Historical accuracy is often too boring, the way Nolan does it allows audiences to understand and relate. Historically accurate Odyssey would be watching a ship sail for days or weeks with nothing happening.

I do find it a bit odd that some people in this thread seem to believe that Greek culture has never been, or is incapable of being appropriated or colonized though, when the dispute about the parthenon marbles at the British museum is a thing. Greek culture is often considered generic European or "white" culture but like... who made that decision? Probably not the Greeks themselves.

I don't think you need to be apologetic for having the feelings that you do. What happened is a shame, I feel bad for his children. However, he was driving so recklessly. It's a miracle that there weren't any other drivers around and the pedestrians are ok.

I've seen posts elsewhere blaming the engineering of the road/barriers etc instead of the manner in which he was driving. If you drive that recklessly you're playing with fire. I would implore anyone who thinks it's ok to drive like that to please make an effort to rethink the way you drive before you get yourself and/or others killed.

Yeah, the barrier was not the problem. If he would have honoured the speed limit, nothing would have happened.

99.9% of us here aren't going to have the car that significantly contributed to losing control.

That is a dangerous misconception. If anything, it's even more dangerous to do this with a normal car, which are all capable of going 100mph+. Sure, he was revving the engine, but the acceleration, which only a supercar can achieve, was not the problem here. He approached the curve way too fast, hit the brakes to late and skidded into the concrete barrier. Normal cars wouldn't have behaved any better, probably worse because they lack the premium brakes and systems.

Hard to tell, but it looks like he actually hits the divider edge on, which causes his car to split the way it does, rather than riding along the divider to "soften" the actual hit?

Yeah, he hit the brakes too late and thus couldn't get on the inside in time/got pushed outside. He hit the barrier with the right edge of the car. Since he was going so fast it ejected the passenger and trapped him in the wreckage.

The entire reaction to MP4 has been insane.
Not in a complimentary way, but in a way that cause any level headed person to question whether the internet gaming community is mentally deranged or just cognitively retarded.

The game was fine. It didn't reach the height of the previous entries because the previous entries, especially the first two, are some of the greatest First-person adventure games of all time. that's an almost unrealistic expectation to match.
This was a quality, but flawed experience. The main gameplay mechanic that is uniquely 'Metroid Prime' ran better in this game, than it ever did in any of its past titles. Yet everyone is too busy being outraged over a bunch of npc that were barely in the game.

It was no where near 'bad', just hyperbolic echo chambers projecting their dissatisfaction because this wasn't the best game ever, again.
When you develop enough self awareness to see how much of an overreaction this all was, you'll laugh at how everyone pulled an IGN God Hand review, then follow through with a bunch of retrospectives years later and call MP4 an "underrated gem" in your retro gamer channels.

As far as what Nintendo will do? lol. I don't recall them ever operating like your average western publisher that terminate people based on the immediate critical reception of 1 of their many games. They don't follow the 'bleeding edge', live&die by your last game title ethos that poisons wester game development. Where is this angle even coming from? Happy Land? living with the Magical man in a gum drop house on Lollipop lane? lol.

FFS. Greek and Roman culture IS the culture of the West. Every single country in Western Europe at some point styled itself as an extension of the Roman Empire and you only have to look at all the public buildings in the US to see that continued in the new world. Every one of these countries, while believing themselves the "new Romans" also saw the Ancient Greeks as the classical golden age.

There is no "Western" culture without Greece. You can't culturally appropriate the root of your own culture.

I absolutely do not agree. Ragnarok is filled with messaging about colonialism and learning how to survive when someone thinks they have the rights to your home. It's also about legacy and how you are defined by what is within you rather than any other person telling you who you are, or the tools you use, or the legacy of those who you walk behind. This only matters to them because they define anything they consider "white" as inherently bad. And so they have to throw out multiculturalism, throw out the "melting pot", etc. to fiercely enforce racial lines for cultures. To keep them "pure" based on a mythological history that never existed. What makes them different from Nazis? Oh, that's right, they're against the "bad" culture the Nazis were for so clearly they're good despite believing the same nonsense. 

They pretty much see somebody like Marco Polo or Columbus as great sinners who brought about our fall from Eden because they only see any negatives that came from this. That if only we could have kept the races forever separated and no contact, everyone and everything would be great. Ignore how much that would have set back humanity as a whole, how much worse we'd all be today, how much poorer the non-Western people would be, etc. What matters is the moral purity everyone would have, never again troubled by race mixing, by the "mongolization" of cultures, by the shared humanity we all have, etc. On a forum ostensibly based around a cross-cultural exemplar industry.
