Heard said her involvement in the Depp v. The Sun case was a Catch 22.

“The outcome of that trial depended on my participation, and I depended on the outcome of that trial. When I first met [Robinson], I immediately got the sense that she got the bigger picture. What has happened to me is an amplified version of what a lot of women live through,” said Heard.

For the duration of The Sun trial, the film depicts Heard as the subject of public scorn. Depp fans, several dressed as Capt. Jack Sparrow from Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean,” hurled expletives and threw trash at Heard as she entered and exited court each day.

“I remember at the close of the trial, the idea that I could say something to the press came up. [Robinson] asked if I was sure about that. [I thought], ‘If they throw things at me, it will make this point more obvious.’ I didn’t understand it could get so much worse for me as a woman, using my voice,” she continued.

Heard, who has moved on to a career in theater, ended on a hopeful note.

“It gives me strength seeing other people take on the fight. Women brave enough to address the imbalance of power. Looking at my daughter’s face as she grows up and slowly starts to walk into this world… I believe it can be better.”

I can't believe this. 30-40k killed is far worse than anyone could have imagined. Indiscriminate killing on a massive scale is the only way to cause that much damage. This has to be an inflection point in Iran. Things can't just go back after this.

Logistically, I have no idea how they killed that many so soon, they must have death squads/infrastructure ready to go even before the protests.

At this stage I'm at the point where we should completely not deal with this government of Iran. Forget 'diplomacy' with them, punishment needs to be given. Expelling all Iranian diplomats and closing all their embassies would be a start. This is probably a situation where a NATO bombing campaign is a necessary evil

US invasion/forced regime change would likely cause millions more deaths and lead to another repressive regime in its place, but I can't blame Iranians grasping for any hope to change the status quo. There are no good options here.

It doesn't make me feel any better though. One year I had it so bad that it felt like every heartbeat was a palpitation. Currently I just have maybe 10 a day and some make me cough once and my heart has like a "restart" like reaction. I had one specialist tell me that I'm fine and I'm too young to have problems. He dropped me because he doesn't think I need any more help. So I got another cardiologist a year later and after tests including a stress test he said I was fine as well. I've had multiple holter monitors, EKGs, I'm on metoprolol succinate ER and amlodipine...

I don't feel fine, but I'm being told that I am. I was told "everyone has palpitations", but nobody I've spoken to deals with them like this.
