I can't believe this. 30-40k killed is far worse than anyone could have imagined. Indiscriminate killing on a massive scale is the only way to cause that much damage. This has to be an inflection point in Iran. Things can't just go back after this.

Even in terms of stupid regime stuff like killing protesters, killing that many people and going out of your way to do it is like suicidal to the country itself. What was the plan here?

Logistically, I have no idea how they killed that many so soon, they must have death squads/infrastructure ready to go even before the protests.

At this stage I'm at the point where we should completely not deal with this government of Iran. Forget 'diplomacy' with them, punishment needs to be given. Expelling all Iranian diplomats and closing all their embassies would be a start. This is probably a situation where a NATO bombing campaign is a necessary evil

Blowing up the Iranian government isn't suddenly gonna turn Iran into a functioning paradise if that's what you think. If anything, it could spark a civil war which leaves millions dead.

US invasion/forced regime change would likely cause millions more deaths and lead to another repressive regime in its place, but I can't blame Iranians grasping for any hope to change the status quo. There are no good options here.

It doesn't make me feel any better though. One year I had it so bad that it felt like every heartbeat was a palpitation. Currently I just have maybe 10 a day and some make me cough once and my heart has like a "restart" like reaction. I had one specialist tell me that I'm fine and I'm too young to have problems. He dropped me because he doesn't think I need any more help. So I got another cardiologist a year later and after tests including a stress test he said I was fine as well. I've had multiple holter monitors, EKGs, I'm on metoprolol succinate ER and amlodipine...

I don't feel fine, but I'm being told that I am. I was told "everyone has palpitations", but nobody I've spoken to deals with them like this.
