He was denied bail, though.  One month before he died, officers found him with a cloth around his neck with injuries, and his cellmate said he tried to hang himself, and he was placed on suicide watch which kinda undermines the idea that suicide is psychologically impossible for him, that everyone seems to believe in.  I believe if someone's life dramatically changes for the permanent worse, especially a life like one Epstein was living, and that person also makes a previous serious attempt like that, they're likely to make another which to me at least is a stronger point than, 'this guy is rich, so it's impossible for him to kill himself.'
