I loved her Olympics performance. Just hard to care about what she has to say about life and "struggling" when you don't get to do what she does without a lot of privilege.

Is one of the requirements for resetera mods to be the most jealous petty people alive?  Really seems that way.  Oppression Olympics colors their every waking moment.  Privileged people can struggle too (hint, a large majority of the world considers whining about privilege online as a person living in the richest country in the world to be a privileged behavior).

Uncle is right, for instance I don't think Will Smith "chose" to be upset over Chris Rock's joke, but it definitely felt like most of the people supporting Smith were only doing it because they wanted to defend the idea that if someone says something you don't like you get to attack them. There's some people out there (and resetera is full of them) who see victimhood as a superpower they can use to win arguments.
And malfoyisking is right, the purpose of the n-word and other slurs is to belittle someone's existence as a human being. I'm sure it took some of the sting off knowing it was involuntary, but it probably still brought back painful feelings of childhood bullies and racist/homophobic assholes for a lot of people in the audience.

The only real asshole in this scenario is the BBC for leaving it in the broadcast, and for lying about "not hearing it". They fucking warned people ahead of time the guy might yell things, they either didn't raise it to the editors which means they're grossly inept or they decided to leave it in for publicity which means they're shameless. Since it's the BBC could go either way I guess.

Thing is even if they bleeped it out, it would leak what he said and we’d be in the same situation we are in.

You can clearly see on Lindo’s & MBJ faces that it struck them off guard, that’s not good at all and you feel for them and you’d hope they got told afterwards what happened, there’s already been so much said about there being no winners here but the Era discourse and what I’ve see on X about it is just annoying.

Wasn't like this before 96 was fun even in a loss there, and 02 and 10 were fun, I miss the fun rivalry, but it's never coming back

I read that she has she/they pronouns at some point, but looks like she doesn't now.
