It's a great game but the frame pacing is absolutely fucking ass at different sections of the game. For the most part it's fine but there's parts like Ludwig where the game controls like mud with inconsistant response that make it 10x harder than it needs to be. 

It's like dark souls 1 where areas like blighttown and the start of the capra demon get you killed because for most of it it's just running like total dogshit.

you can play it on an emulator at 60fps on pc now, there's no real reason other than sony glazing to stick up for them leaving it running like shit on ps4.

Agreed. It feels like a lot of times someone will be like "I like this thing/look at this cool video" and suddenly from the shadows comes "BUT DID YOU KNOW THEY DID THIS?" Can we report stuff like that for derailing?

By that same token you could ignore/or scroll past a thread you don't like. That's what I do. Mostly.

Posting information about supporting a child abuser doesn't mean you didn't like the thread. It's adding more information about it. Just because you don't like the post doesn't make it a derail.

Imo, it's fine and actually good to have a post or two to raise awareness, but when the thread becomes about sniping back and forth about cancelling whoever, the threads spiral into uselessness. Which I guess is the kind of hecklers veto that people want in lieu of mod action

Really? I didn't know and I learned something. Sorry, but I want to know when celebs are Trumpers. I want to know when celebrities are abusers, or bigots who hate queer people (especially given that I'm queer). And yes, I want to know when people like that support child rapists.

It should be fine to point out that someone is problematic, so long as it isn't trying to go beyond the subject in order to broad brush users in the thread from the jump (eg anyone who says their voting Dems in election threads is bloodthirsty for genocide, rather than just calling out the party/candidate for their bipartisan support of genocide).



That aspect and kinda the attitude that everyone should already know every issue where it's like pulling teeth to get the proper context or anything at all where it's some bizarre gatekeeping, is where the "informed" messengers can be grating. Where it often does feel like the point is to be combative with everyone here rather than informative about the issue. That wasn't the case for the Ford thread, but it is common place enough that I can understand some of the frustration.



But the response in the thread was way out of proportion to the post(s) bringing it up/responding negatively about Ford, and really sent things into a spiral. The one user who said anything about anyone liking that Ford received the award was never even quoted directly, but instead people just casting wide nets in turn and putting that on themselves in a bizarre fashion.

You can be the world's biggest Harrison Ford fan, but that doesn't change that he's actively cheered on a pedophile. People, companies, whatever, are never flawless and a lot of people would like to know these kinds of things to decide whether or not to continue supporting the thing or person in question.



Being able to look at something (or someone), flaws and all, and make your own judgment call, is the right path here.

I don't know about Bloodborne specifically but broken frame pacing is one of the most obvious things in games. You can't typically "fix" it because it's usually an engine issue.

Sometimes you question if some of them even grasp how games work.

I tend to agree with this though, I don't like to see good assets go to waste, I like game preservation even if I don't necessarily care about the game

you could plausibly argue that some or all of the assets are the actual problem in making the game unlikable but I think that's less of an issue in highguard, people weren't really criticizing the characters for being fat nonbinary ethnics, or the art style for being "woke" or whatever, it was more just trying to enter into a saturated market with a game really limited in scope that just has the vibe of everything else you've ever seen for the past decade

but like...you could probably use the ground textures and the plant models and the horse animation and the background music in other contexts to make something worth enjoying
