Then I couldn't resist the bundle on Switch 2 so I got it for Switch 2.

I have to say the differences between the two at max settings and Switch 2 are so impressively minimal that I can't believe I'm playing this on Nintendo hardware the way it is. It looks SO damn good on Switch 2. Gives me great hope for this console. It's just astounding what they've achieved here.

Americans have to drive more because the population is less dense and don't have public transit options. Low income Americans both have to drive longer distances to work and have no extra margin to afford higher fuel costs.

Americans also have a very different fleet of vehicles, mostly trucks and large SUVs which are less fuel efficient than sedans and compacts.

Also the US relies on diesel trucks for shipping goods long distances and the whole consumer economy is built on semi trucks driving stuff from state to state - distances often greater than entire Euro countries.

Looking back, it's kind of nuts how Resident Evil 5 treated Jill

Jill was one of the faces of Resident Evil. She was one half of the main duo and got a solo game before Chris and Resident Evil 5 reduced her to a brainwashed damsel wearing a tight catsuit for Chris to save.

doubly funny since Code Veronica ends with Steven's body being retrieved by Wesker setting up something with Steve and Jill's last appearance in 3 ends with her looking for Chris while hanging out with Carlos. There is nothing 'wrong' with initially feeling hopeless in response to deeply harmful events, it can be a 'natural' emotional response. But it is a problem when you cannot finish processing those emotions or balance them against their limited context; they are meant to be transitory, not permanent.

Depression can sometimes be conceptualized as a persistent inability to internalize our basic reasoning due to latent cognitive distortions. We 'know' how illogical it is to say that human beings can only ever love one other person in the world no matter what, but depression makes us feel like the obvious untruth is just as real.

I don't mean this to say that mere platitudes can correct anything, but it is important to try to recognize when you are being objectively unreasonable even when you don't feel something is true. That may feel like a trite observation, but it is the crux of depression to mistakenly conflate our emotional state with our rational state. Physically writing out the difference between our perception and the generalized facts can be a helpful exercise.

Forcibly divorcing ourselves from the analysis of a situation and acknowledging this difference can be essential in anchoring our emotional response because it can reset our sense of proportionality. The emotional truth we feel has to 'read' against the unreasonable extrapolation. We will still be trapped in cognitive distortions of "Sure, but I am special/uniquely bad compared to everyone else" or "what works for other people will never work for me" but now we've shifted the context from a situation being hopeless by default, to our individual responses being ineffective.

That alone can be a huge psychological win, because now we're thinking about actions, not just feelings. And that makes it easier to challenge other distortions.

The important aspect to this topic has been the quite frankly absurd extensions to Copyright Length as Corporations like Disney have made it unreasonable.

Like I am all for the owners of the content making their money that they deserve. However we must be mindful of how unreasonable the length of the profit window has become.

When the US was founded Copyright lasted a Max of 28 years. Today it lasts nearly 100 years.

The point is the length of the extension has become a hinderance to preservation because legally speaking you can't start preserving the content at legal level till 100 years after the Copyright.

This is just too long because it's possible content that is a lot less profitable may be lost before it becomes public domain.

There should really be a serious discussion on how to address that at some point.

As someone who is in his late 40's and has just literally gotten around his block of hating JRGPs for the majority of my life.. I played Chono Trigger earlier this year, which has made me want to just consume as much JRPG's as i can now!

However, with that in mind and given "laws", i am going to look forward to downloading and playing all these classic games ive never played via emulation come the end of the 21st century. Oh wait, i won't i'll be dead.

I guess the only legal way for me to play these now is either wait for the IP holder to re-release these on a platform ( which i won't have ownership of the content anyway ) or try and obtain these 2nd hand , and the devices 2nd hand at stilly prices with zero revenue going to the IP holder.... and running the risk of the old physical media and hardware not even working now or in the future.

Awful to be honest, I am in love with my best friend, she knows and has been going out with someone for a year without telling me because she knew it would upset me. I am Hurt, heartbroken, jealous and guilty for feeling like in this in the first place because she has every right to date whoever she likes. Seeing a therapists working out ways to love myself, focus on me, regulate my negative emotions etc. Told a girl I was talking to that I am seeing a therapist, I asked if I could detail my sessions a little bit, she said yes, then blocked me on everything the next day. It's just one bad thing after another.

Gonna refer to the three instances I noticed this kind of thing.

Example 1

A new employee joined my job a while back. A week later there's a company bowling night. There's the chance for her to get to know everyone better outside the office. Something I realize throughout our interactions, she's a toucher. Attractive woman close to my age, I'm single as fuck, I know better than to read into it, but I like the attention, so no complaints. She's just laughing and touching and brushing my arm every time I say something. I don't think I'm saying anything funny. But it was a fun night.

Fast-forward some time, the bowling night was the most her and I had ever interacted. She's better friends with the people she sits with. Most of my interactions with her in the office are while I was playing with her dog who would come by. The touching probably stopped after a month. Never really noticed her doing it to other people. She also had a boyfriend the entire time. I don't know what to take from that.

Coworker's friend from out of town comes to visit. We're out for a guy's night. This dude will not stop touching me. I'm polite and just deal with it, but I'm aware it's JUST me out of everyone there he's touching.

Coworker asked if we wanted to hangout again that weekend, I said sure, but I did make the note, "can you tell X, I'm not gay", I should've broached the subject gentler, but I felt comfortable jumping to that conclusion since it was JUST me he was doing it to.

I'd like to think I wasn't being homophobic, but sorry he didn't have the soft touch and cute laugh example 1 did.

I befriend a couple guy and girl that I hang out with several times. All good interactions. Their relationship seems to have gone on for a few years. Super solid. One day I bring along a female friend to lunch. And then my guy friend ends up being a bit touchy in a way similar to the person described in example 1. Not as much, and there is an optics thing of course, but I'm self conscious for two reasons, "uh, dude your girlfriend is right there" and "uh, I wonder if my friend is bothered by this". Does she (my friend) mind? Is this reflecting poorly on me? At least on the surface everything was friendly, but I don't know.

I was wondering if I should've apologized to my friend for that, but I was also wondering if I was just projecting.

But I don't know, I don't know if I'm around touchers a lot.

Another time I was at a party, and one of the women there just sat on my lap. She wasn't touching me the whole party, but the sitting thing was enough of a hint for me to follow-up and we went out later that week. So I do see it as a way to show interest. But I'd like to think that wasn't the case for examples 1 and 3.

Also the optics around touching. People who do it unintentionally? Gender optics. If you're someone who does mind, how do you communicate?
