That's a lot of digital blackface from pretty much a white woman from the Levant.

Punk and metal and all subcultures are about rebellion against the orthodoxy. When the rebellion becomes the orthodoxy, the mainstream becomes the rebellion.

The amusing thing is their biggest enemies are people who never suffered under their regime, Joanne, Jesse Signal, Richard Dawkins, that one gay guy who quit his reporter job to focus on this, etc. The dudes who just yelled things like person of gender or responded to every post with "ur a man" are the ones most beneficial to their cause.

Not sure if we talked about this before.

Lindy West, a super feminist and writer who basically shaped the Jezebel website revealed in her memoir that she's in a polyamory relationship. Thing is, reading the memoir everyon concludes that she was absolutely pressured into it and that her husband was initially secretly cheating on her with multiple women. Since the husband is a POC he played the uno reverse card and made some progressive arguments about how monogamy is white supremacy or whatever and that it's patriarchal ownership.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/03/lindy-west-millennial-feminism/686488/?gift=SKtFP-7gCBnFn1bNJdqPMg92hUfwcKE5vnQbelq5DQA&utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share
Quote:At the same time as it offers a revisionist history of West’s 2010s, Adult Braces makes another grand claim: that West is now polyamorous and lovin’ it. Yes, she might have been upset when a fan texted her with the news that Oluo was out in public kissing another woman. (Even then, she admits halfway through the book, that wasn’t the whole truth: “I told you Aham was secretly seeing one woman in 2019. He was actually seeing two.”) But really, she absolutely adores her and Oluo’s now-mutual girlfriend, Roya, to the extent that through sheer force of will, she has become bisexual. It only took driving a van from Seattle to the Florida Keys and back, while also undergoing cosmetic dentistry, to realize this.

Quote:When I read Adult Braces, my instinctive reaction was: I don’t believe you.

To me, it seemed obvious that Oluo, who is mixed race, had successfully used West’s desire to be progressive against her: “He believed that monogamy was, at its root, a system of ownership. I had to admit that perhaps I didn’t feel it as keenly, as a white person.” Oluo had also rebranded himself as a “non-binary he/they,” perhaps to shrug off any suggestion that he was acting like every harem-patrolling patriarch in history.

Now, I know plenty of people who have come to a different understanding of their sexuality as adults—mostly Later-Life Lesbians, or LLLs—but it seems an unlikely coincidence that the first woman West has ever been attracted to was already her husband’s girlfriend. Not least when the book includes this line: “Being cool about polyamory felt like a growing imperative in progressive circles.”

Lindy West and her husband have not taken the backlash well and started attacking journalists. The husband wrote an email to a slate journalist calling her names, when later asked if he wants to comment on that email he responded with "Free Palestine"

Just all around and amazing example of someone trying to excuse his personal shittiness with "progressivism" to the point he screams "Free Palestine" when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

The Lindy West story sure is something.

I mean, forget all of the aftermath. "My theyfriend had two secret girlfriends, which he framed as political imperative only after I found out" is really the beginning and the end of the story.

Surprised, because he pays attention to such things, that Rufo didn't kill shot the guy here because this is literally what leftist academics have claimed about written history since at least Marx. And it's especially the Black Liberation view of written history. lol

edit:

Hesright Yep, Rufo has false consciousness that the system uses to keep him ignorant and thus docile rather than the class consciousness of vanguard whites like bumbadum14 and meds3333.

I don't like surveys like "what percentage of people say they have used AI" because some of them will consider google results to count, where it's basically automatic and often ignored

however, smartphone downloads require intentionality, and all of the AI apps have been at the top of the downloads chart since they were introduced, it was ChatGPT for over a year and they were just supplanted by Claude

it's estimated that 15-25% of all people worldwide have downloaded an AI app on their smartphone, 30-40% within the US

and people wouldn't go out of their way to download it if they didn't find it useful for something

Yup. I was a huge LLM skeptic, closer to anti AI than most, and even I downloaded Gemini to my phone. It works better than Googling for things and beats posting questions on Reddit/forums because that's kind of annoying to other users.

I've had problems with a bread recipe I like so I took a photo and asked Gemini what was wrong. it told me my proofing wasn't long and/or warm enough. Proofed it a bit longer with the oven light on after that and the problem is gone.

I'm vibe coding my way through multiple video games and it straight up gets shit done

open unity, open claude code from command prompt within the project folder. "I want to make this, let's get started." it picks a start point, makes a big checklist on what needs to be done in what order. "write that down in a text file and make a note to refer back to it so you remember." ok, done.

can recommend libraries from the internet, if you don't know how to install them it will hold your hand and say "unzip it and put the files here," tell it to implement a feature, it does it and asks you to test it, anything in the game that's not working right you just mention it and it'll say "oh, I see the problem it's here" and it fixes it

"the enemies keep killing me and I need to test this or that system, add a debug button that makes me invincible with infinite ammo," sure thing boss

you don't have to know code at all

the only thing it doesn't do is art and sound, and admittedly that's no small thing, but even so

Two very odd responses. The first suggesting that the only reason one might defend something is because of the thing being defended appreciating it. The second essentially arguing against the reason Bluesky believes or supports any position at all.

There is also absolutely zero chance they would accept a study that demonstrates this, they would attack it for not accounting for the "cost" of using AI which includes anything and everything up to the "planet literally boiling", a totally quantifiable metric.

I don't get people who can't just enjoy it for what it is

I had a great time a few months back hanging out with family making stupid AI songs, the kids were so amazed that it takes your ridiculous ideas seriously, as if some professional production studio got this real guy to sing childish fart songs with a complete straight face and emotion

it's not about "but you didn't actually create ART," no one trying to scam anyone or steal dollars from working artists, it's just the simple joy of writing lyrics and hearing them professionally produced instantly

at the end of the night my sister even used it to write them a "time to go to bed now" song
