Saying that the developers art suggests they might be pedophiles.
Saying that the developers art suggests that they hate women and are part of a global effort to turn women into sex slaves.
Saying that almost anything about the developers from their art to their T-Shirt choices to how they police their platform forums proves they support a global genocidal agenda that will murder millions.

The thing is, I can imagine some pedo gets his rocks off in some way or another when seeing a child character but he's not doing that because Capcom is bad but because he's a fucked up pedo. I bet you some other pedo gets his rocks off when he sees Judy Garland putting on the ruby slippers in Wizard of Oz. Should we now talk about how kids shouldn't appear in movies or something?
Basically I don't really see the point of letting fucked up pedos with fucked up fetishes dictate media that appears normal and harmless to literally anyone else.

Basically I don't really see the point of letting fucked up pedos with fucked up fetishes dictate media that appears normal and harmless to literally anyone else. They're completely trapped within the idea of the Heckler's Veto both positively or negatively. You can't "dismiss concerns" but also they spend as much time fretting about how some hypothetical chud may interpret something as supporting his views. And at least half the time they're extending the consequences to some insane far out consequence like that the "high femmes" of Stellar Blade will lead to mass state violence against women in the West.

Doops reviews Super Mario World
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) Super Mario World is a quintessential launch title.
When it comes to presentation, it cannot be discarded. Still today, this is one of the best looking and sounding Mario games, 2D or 3D.
On the merits of its soundtrack alone, Super Mario World is just masterpiece upon masterpiece with so many iconic tracks in its repertoire. Honestly, it's perhaps the first Mario game where everyone can have a different answer to the question of which song is their favourite.
Visually, the SNES uses those 8 extra bits to great effect, with a gorgeous colour palette and designs across the game's 9 worlds and wonderful animations across the board, with some impressive graphical effects here and there (especially in the Bowser boss battle, with depth-of-field stuff).
Like I say, for its presentation, Super Mario World is near immaculate.
For its gameplay, though? That depends.
On what exactly? Your personal taste and tolerance for gimmicks. Not the kind of gimmicks that previous Mario games have traded in; power-ups, special moves and whatnot, but rather Super Mario World's primary export: secrets.
Almost every level and world in SMW has at least one secret entrance into and out of it.
Sometimes these are detours, sometimes not. You see, the world design in SMW isn't so much A-to-B, but can on occasion be A-to-A.2-to-A.3-to-A.4-to-A.1-and-then-back-to-A-and-then-B. It's a whirlwind vacation at times, is what I'm saying. You do always get to where you're going, it just might take you a bit of a round trip sometimes.
Otherwise, what's true for SMB3 is also true here too: Super Mario World can be very repetitive. To quote myself from that review: each world has kind of a repeating blueprint for levels, and although the combination of power-ups, world themes and songs are just about enough to set them apart, it can still be grating and dull on occasion. Really, it seems to be down to preference whether you prefer World over the third game or not, since they are very similar in certain ways.
Personally, I do prefer Super Mario World over the previous games, though with the appropriate caveats. It has buttery smooth controls, though the rhythm of platforming isn't as seamless as in SMB3, with quite a bit of waiting around for moving platforms. Much like SMB3, its levels can get dull and repetitive, and navigating around the worlds can be cumbersome with each level's multiple exits and side paths, but the presentation is so outstanding that you can't help but love it anyway.
Fundamentally, as I said at the top, it's a launch title in all the appropriate ways. It's very flashy, and very impressive, but the gameplay may not be as outstanding as you want it to be when comparing it to its predecessors and contemporaries.
But hey, unlike many launch titles, at least Super Mario World is actually fun to play today.
8/10

I don’t necessarily think is fake news, some people are this criminally dumb and greedy:
Still, is more surprising that not more people helped the guy. I grow up hearing stories of co workers in the local factory helping each other out even in life threatening situations even when hating each other guts.
Edit: sound like a lot of people helped so it sound less like “evil mustache twitching manager” and more like “I don’t what to do. Eh… back to work?”.

This should be rewritten.

No, you said it cannot be discarded. Whatever that's supposed to mean. Also, this is a bad sentence with off tenses.
Quote:For its gameplay, though? That depends.

Why two questions? So I can give an answer before asking another.
What makes these gimmicks versus core components?
Quote:Almost every level and world in SMW has at least one secret entrance into and out of it.
Has an "entrance" out of it? And do any of the stages actually have a secret "entrances" into them? I think there's exactly one Boo House you can do this with.
Quote:Sometimes these are detours, sometimes not. You see, the world design in SMW isn't so much A-to-B, but can on occasion be A-to-A.2-to-A.3-to-A.4-to-A.1-and-then-back-to-A-and-then-B. More mixed metaphors and confused direction.
Quote:Really, it seems to be down to preference whether you prefer World over the third game or not
What else would it be down to?
Quote:Fundamentally, as I said at the top, it's a launch title in all the appropriate ways.
You didn't say this at the top at all, you said it was a quintessential launch title. But never qualified nor explicated this or established exactly what you meant by it. One could read this in two entirely different ways, that it is, as you suggest here is quintessential in its qualities of being a launch title or that it's quintessential historically as a launch title that has other more eternal qualities or as you put it is "actually fun to play today." Altered Beast could be called a quintessential launch title for one of these uses but probably not for the other. Something later like Ridge Racer V or Kameo could be similar. Super Mario Bros. would be one that like World would fit in both categories. And it's only by referring us back to your opening sentence with your supposed conclusion that it leaves us to ponder this rather than the throwaway sentence that the original actually most likely was and probably most readers read it as.
Revise and resubmit.
I figured there aren't enough reviews of Super Mario World (1991) so I'd chip in and give my take on the subject. Reflect on the game based on current events because oof yikes yall — are current events yearning for such a breakdown.
Let's start to talk about what Mario actually represents in this modern era. Is he just a character or is there something deeper, something more sinister of perhaps even malicious behind the design of the familiar red jolly fellow. Maybe looking into his actions will reveal these truths but first let's dive deeper into the merry band of characters Nintendo has collected to star in this game. The usual suspects, Peach, Toad and Bowser are all — there in their 16-bit glory. Surprisingly missing is birdo the first confirmed non-binary Nintendo character. Perhaps the most baffling decision of all. After a pivotal role in the US version of Doki Doki Panic a game we came to know as Super Mario Bros. 2 . Already in 1991 they — decided to go bigger, brighter and bolder with their sprites, which are computer graphics drawn on a 2D plane which according to research by MIT was the most common cause of epilepsy in 1991. In 2026 we unfortunately know exactly what this means but in 1991 this was a new and novel concept. People did not yet understand the consequences of grading things even if it was just by bits, generations and monikers like "Super". Which to this day is still being used by you know who but I digress...
In Super Mario World — Nintendo introduced a new character. A Dinosaur with the name Yoshi hatches from an egg. Symbolism or did the developers want to send a not so subtle message? Although technically in some regions the game Yoshi Cookie launched on the Nintendo — Entertainment System (Famicom in Japan) before Super Mario World launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super Famicom in Japan) this is generally considered to be the first Nintendo game that included the new green character.

Bowser’s Castle. You can bypass the two initial “choose your segment” parts finding an alternate path in the final world.
But yeah, there is just 1 secret entrance to a level.

It's funny because I've previously criticized oty for falsely saying that Marx had a "transition stage of socialism" in his theory, which he didn't, that was introduced by, essentially, Stalin. (It literally doesn't make sense outside of any context except the one that spawned it, to explain why the revolution hadn't led to communism in the Soviet Union and later China.) So I'm starting to suspect that oty, the most proud Marxist left on the forum after Booshka was banned and SocialistERA was purged years back, has not actually ever read Marx outside of the Manifesto.
*really it goes against Marx's entire deal, he wouldn't write of himself as the proletariat or even anyone who would be part of the revolution to do this. His whole conceit was that he was a scientific observer of History who was telling you what was going to go down.

As I edited into that post none of Marx's (or Engel's for that matter) other writing is like that and even in that Marx doesn't write in the first person. He'd never write of himself doing actions that are supposed to be the guaranteed scientifically proven role of the proletariat. Marx wasn't even sure he'd live to see the revolution and never imagined he'd lead it.
Looking for mic drops from Marx would be like if you searched Paul Krugman's NYT column and economic textbooks for bangers and slogans.

Now Lenin does have a ton of bangers and almost everything he wrote was about abusing you into submission for being such an idiot, but all the bangers are about crushing dissenters or working the lazy/criminal/undesirables to death.
