Yeah, it's not like it's a tweet referencing a game by an employee that the company fired over it. That's the kind of thing actually worth condemning and punishing a company of hundreds of people and their game over. (My changing my console location and new game plus is on a gifted copy for my trusted evaluation of its sinful elements.)

This is when we had a thought: why not use the embedded subforum system to solve this issue on a technical level?

The proposal is as follows: we create a "New Releases" subforum that will house all threads on brand-new releases. So, say the new Bond game comes out and it's a smash and everyone has a million things to say. Instead of pushing it all into a single OT, we put it all into the subforum. The OT will still exist, but it will largely be for people actively playing the game. Threads about story beats, themes, technical stuff, impressions, and all the rest of the sort of threads that normally get locked would now be allowed, they'd just be in the "New Releases" subforum. We would no longer have to police thread creation when a new game comes out because if people don't want to see those threads, they can just click a single button and make them all go away as they browse.

it's why gaf did so well and partly why reddit does so well

most people feel like creating a new thread is being an imposition or demanding too much attention for your insignificant little question, let people pop into a megathread, drop their comment or question, and be done with it

I knew the film wouldn't fail, but I think its less about people not believing Michael was a pedophile, so much as most people not caring now he is dead.

You know, completely overlooking the victims of the person this film deities and ignoring what that must be like for them.

There was a sigh of relief when he died from some quarters that basically conveyed 'oh good I don't have to pretend not to like his music anymore'.

Because heaven forbid anyone have to stop listening to a couple of albums out of empathy for people that were abused.

 
 

Because there isnt plenty of other music? I'm not condemning people for 'finding joy'. I will find my toe tapping when Jackson's music is playing somewhere when I'm out and about, but I'm not giving money to a film that evangelizes a pedophile.

  

I would be very happy if I never ran across his music again. Feel free to equate something coming on Spotify at a business I'm at with spending my own dollars to go see a movie though.
