If your stance is, "Hasan isn't a smart person," the rest of your criticism is going to fall flat because of how clearly ridiculous that is.

His intelligence isn't really up for debate. He has a double major in political science and communication. He isn't just some random streamer talking a bunch of shit. He is a very educated person.

And you call out that his positions are often whatever is in opposition to the US but it might be good to do some self-reflection on why that immediately triggers you. Is it because he hates the US and is biased, as you seem to imply, or is it because the US is a fucking problem and is often the direct cause of the world's problems?

Yesterday my 12-yr old daughter came out to me as transgender. I gave them a hug and told them I loved them. The sexuality of my children really doesn't concern me; I'm happy if they are happy. I did ask them to give me some grace as I adjust from she/her to they/them/it. I mean, I still call my Subaru my Jetta, even though I've owned two other cars since I last owned a Jetta in 2015. I'm going to slip up.

That's not where my conflict lies. I am proud of them and support whatever they want to do, however, we live in an extremely right-wing and religious town. I fully intend to support them however I can, but I also want to caution them about broadcasting their sexuality in this town. I want to prepare them for what might come their way and I don't want it to seem like I am trying to silence them or that I am not proud of them. I'm just concerned about their well-being. They identified as gay earlier in the year, so I don't know if their identity will change again or not. I've never been a 12-yr old female that identified as trans; this is new to me. I just want to be there for them and make sure they are as happy as they can be.

Just today I had to pull my son out of high school for the day because a classmate said "I feel sorry for people of the LGBTQ community for being "like that" and that "instead of throwing the Jews in the concentration camps like they deserved we should throw the gays in there instead". We are Jewish. Was that kid was being a garden variety fuck or was he deliberately saying that to my son because of his sister? I don't know.

I want them to be safe and I am struggling a bit on how to have that conversation. Any suggestions would be welcome. My apologies if this comes off rambling; the concentration camp comment has be a bit fired up.
