Wonder Woman ($824 million), Captain Marvel ($1.1 billion) and Black Widow ($380 million during COVID with simultaneous streaming release) are the exceptions that prove the rule: America hates women to (box office) death.

Regarding these Nepenthe posts: I’m reading Woman on the Edge of Time with my wife (awful book). The short version is a modern day woman can project herself temporarily into a future where they have perfected Automated Luxury Communism. It’s very Nep-ian in that it is both highly specific and hilariously vague, depending on which better serves the argument of the moment.

Anyway, in this Perfect Future World, the author goes out of her way to specify that this idealized society generates 10 (10!) unique blanket patterns for the comrades to choose from. It”s presented as a “see, we solved it!” revelation.

My wife and I had a good laugh about how much strife would arise in a potential successor society from that fact alone.

She has the neverending fundamental error of the central planner, a belief that there must be some order imposed on every aspect of the universe by a higher force. By God's hand or her own. That's her anger at the "liberal" who refuses to lay out a plan for society and everyone's life for the rest of eternity, the fools simply allow things to come about as people desire and act and an "order" simply appears from that? Rather than "rationally" imposing it, the correct order, as the superior mind obviously sees should be done. She believes every aspect of our current lives has been imposed by a few thousand white people who control everything with perfect omniscience and omnipotence. There's no way it's simply the result of an infinite number of actions and choices, no, no, no, that doesn't make any sense, it has to be deliberately created by someone.

It's the same dogma that Marx explicitly lays out without demonstrating, that there are no trade offs existing in the world, that capital is infinite and supplied by heaven, so all choices, everything in life is simply an allocation and distribution problem that needs to be solved by the wise humans capable of seeing everything. God's plan becomes that of the self-diagnosed ascended leader. (See also: their conception of solidarity, of no need to ever balance say what atheists and Islamists or cis women and trans women want, that everyone can simply be brought together by the wise mind who understands all.) Besides, it can't be that hard if the fucking capitalist morons can do it currently.

It's why she thinks it even makes sense to start from nothing but your own mind and "sketch" out a perfect way of living everyone will agree upon.

But yet she also refuses to explain how the completely planned from the top down society she demands be put in place is supposed to even manifest the carrots or the porches or the street music. That's an unfair burden, nobody asks that of the capitalist whites. They simply just let them impose it on all of us. It's like how the evolutionists can't explain why we still got monkeys but the intelligent design advocate somehow has to explain everything? Totally unfair and exactly how Darwin's personal opinion gets imposed on us through violence. Same thing the whites have done since Yakub created them.

This reminds me of Haldeman's 'Forever War' where in the far, far future humanity turns into a bunch of clones who are all mentally interconnected (not quite a hivemind but close). It eliminates all conflict but also destroys individuality. The protagonist, who, through time dilation, comes from a time far before, is deeply disturbed by all of those "humans" and rather opts to live on a remote planet with the last of his contemporaries. 
Aside from the esoteric mumbo jumbo the big difference here seems to be that they claim to preserve individuality but I have no idea how you'd do that without creating conflicts that are bigger than just a thing that can be solved by throwing a "party" for the losers. (Also imagine if one side just keeps being the loser...)

so this has inspired me for how you could tell an actually interesting story in this setting

imagine there's this one small town who constantly loses every conflict, they just seem totally unlucky, leading to everyone else feeling bad for them, but they keep their chin up and say "eh it's ok, due to the benefits of our wonderful society, we persevere"

but

it turns out that when a town loses one of these conflicts, it's customary for the victor to hang up these colorful streamers everywhere (just considered disposable trash), and there's a scientist in this town who has determined that the material used to make the streamers is a rarer-than-expected hyper valuable superconductor

and they're losing on purpose to accumulate this material and build technological wonders in a secret lab, hoping to one day reveal themselves and impose a new order upon the rest of the populace
