The "mismanagement" argument is a revisionist one that says the revolution should have been halted and socialism indefinitely delayed until the assumptions of Marxism could be replaced.

You can tell Hasan thinks the actual communists were just edgy left-wing neoliberals like himself. That they would care about these deaths and would have stopped them if they knew. Stalin and Mao both were just being Trumpian when they regularly said the deaths are irrelevant in the face of the goal. That it was just "mismanagement" for the CCP to replicate exactly the "problems" (not that the Soviets or CCP thought it was a problem, the correct people were dying after all, not the Party members) the Soviets had with collectivization and the theory demanded occur.

You might as well vote for establishment Democrats if you're concerned about the human cost of achieving socialism.
