The 29 y/o is on a trip to Belgium this weekend so I asked another one.
She agreed on the time and place but would like to be picked up close to her home.
If I send an Uber back and forth that would set me back ~180,-
That seems way too expensive for a date with a 36 y/o mid single mom.

At work everyone has strategically planned their exit. The people that are getting fired work until the end of september, use up their vacation days in october and leave november. The 3rd guy in line is pretty planning to stick around until the place goes bankrupt. Although he prefers to also be fired so he can use the first 60 days of unemployment benefits to scale his ecommerce business.
Anyway job interview tommorow and for something I would genuinely like to do. The biggest question is what it pays.

Great 1st interview, she's going to set-up a meeting with the CTO and another executive. She was well prepared with her questions.
Total package: ~90k - 96k yearly. Overall I have more room to invest.
Working conditions sounded pretty good too and a less demanding job than I currently have. At least 2 days WFH but the role demands a lot of remote work in general. They have white papers, AI platforms, existing clients etc. just no one who can sell or promote it. I'll be the representative of their AI efforts more or less. Liason between their business units, partners, the AI campus and the clients.
Not the dream 150k job but a great upgrade in pay and career prospects. I won't have to worry about the big mess that this company is, 20 agencies merged into 5 locations since 2020.
She understood me well. Considered to start her own business after the buy out but most freelance recruiters end up with 1 or 2 big clients anyway. Yesterday I talked to a guy who owned a tattoo parlor and sold it. Started it before COVID, had to re-invest a couple of times. He made some money selling it but certainly not equal to the effort he put in. Not to mention the artists were difficult to manage. Lots of drama from music choice to copyright etc. etc. .
The 100k corpo job route is easier. That would put me in the top 10% - 12% of incomes.
how do I still not know what the fuck he's doing for a living or who he works for when he's on about it all day every day and im reading it

Today I had a 2 hour meeting with a collector or rather the collector of World War 2 era board and card games.
He has ~3500 of them, filed and cataloged. Now he wants to turn his collection into an online museum.
Fascinating stories about how people made card games from cigarette packs in concentration camps.
He had a chess set that fits into a cigar case made from isolation material by a POW who died escaping the camp but his friend managed to save it. Also stuff like a Parcheesi game shaped like a swastika or something like battleship but focused on bombing England.

I was out on my morning walk earlier and this girl stopped and asked if I had s cigarette. I said nah, I don’t smoke pal. Then she asked if I knew what the date was. Weird question but ok. I told her it’s the 3rd. Then she asked if I had any spare change. It’s just hit me. She didn’t ask what the date was. She asked if I wanted a date.

To be fair to me nobody would expect a random prostitute to approach them at 6am.
So I said, nah, I don't take fruit from strangers this early in the morning.
Visited a start-up hub today. Someone told me the wrong date for their public event but I could join their closed event.
Interesting conversations, lots of people trying to figure out what to do now that AI is changing everything.
A teacher wanted to try and "protect the children" by creating his own "child safe" AI agent. He had a theory about how AI damaged their cognitive ability and brain development.
The guy that runs it said that it is better to shape a job around someone rather than defining a job and trying to fit a person into that function. I have to say he did a very good job setting up this community and growing it compared to the last time I was there. He gave some pointers of what start-up is doing what and what they were looking for. Some of them were quite succesful and nearly all of them had entirely unique concepts. Even guys that failed with their start-up or quit the program still join for drinks.
Chatted with a cute girl with big glasses also. She works at the university and is trying to bring the research and patents to market. It was a difficult process so she celebrates the small wins. She's going to Italy for 2 weeks to celebrate her birthday. They have drinks every thursday and I'm free to join whenever I want.
So far many people have taken a big interest in the journey I'm on and have given me useful inspiration. Mr. Rogers also called today to ask what was up. He's busy with the government contracts.
At the gym I'm also back into the pre-flu rhythm.
My workplace is like this surreal soviet environment. People that are getting fired are handing their work over to me, knowing that I'll also leave as soon as I find something else. Things are breaking down left and right and the clients call the boss who says he will fix everything but days later nothing is actually fixed.

Multiple times now I’ve been at unrelated events and recognized cafe or restaurant staff who happened to be there. Catering or at an expo booth or whatever. Not even in the same vicinity. I mention it to them, and they act excited and flattered. And today’s instance kept waving to me when I passed. But deep down I know they’re like “what kind of psychopath remembers the face of a random waiter.” Me, apparently. Suffice to say, I can’t return to those restaurants anymore.

I honestly think it would be a great change of pace to just have a list of leads to chase, AI products to promote, build partnerships and be an AI advocate both inside and outside the company.
Be one of 2000 employees on 250 million revenue, instead of 1 of 8 or 1 of 4 who has to bring in 50% because no one else has the experience and commercial talent. Anchoring any potential additional upside to my own output and nothing else. Not having to worry about invoices being send out, servers, SEO or client project deadlines.
