Serious question about The Blood of Dawnwalker's writing/tone. How misogynistic and man-centered is it?

I was a different person when I played Witcher 3 about a decade ago, and a lot of the stuff that the game features doesn't go down nearly as well today. I do not relate to playing as some gruff old guy and the game's extreme male gaze (and generally just guy-oriented) focus is not something I want to deal with today.

Given much of the Dawnwalker team is inspired by and worked directly on The Witcher 3, how much of that has carried over? I seriously doubt I am going to find this information in any review.

Why is "can't relate" suddenly acceptable if not straight up praised when it's a white guy? The exact same people will murder you if you'll say you can't relate to the Gen Z girl from Intergalactic.

And I know, they'll say that men are overrepresented but that doesn't actually address the core, the idea of being unable to relate to someone who isn't the same age, sex or ethnicity as you. By saying they can't relate to a gruff white guy they legitimize the idea that you can't relate to protagonists who don't share your attributes meaning the feelings of those chuds are actually valid.

Remember, these are grown men who have an unhealthy attachment to RPGs to the point they self-diagnose themselves with DID and map out their personalities like members of a Final Fantasy party with their own names, stats, gender, attraction, etc. They spend more time in the character creator of a videogame to make their EXACT idealized self-insert instead of actually playing the game and will go into convulsions if they can't relate to a protag on a fundamental level. 
 
It's why FFXIV is the favorite games of these freaks, they want to be their true and honest selves in every game.

Watching the recent videos of Revelations and playing the other two games multiple times, on hard mode, etc, it's amazing seeing the iteration the team has made.

You get to know the characters and world better. The battle system continues to get better. This is as someone that did those crazy challenges too.

As a long FF time fan this feels real good.

I know many love the anthology aspects. But I do hope we get another mainline trilogy. SE did this with the less well received FF13 series. I still tink those games are good save the last one.

Compare that to FF16, which just came and went. I doubt they'll make a sequel or iterate on the battle system or improve the quest design. It's done.

What's amazing is how many embraced Rebirth more because it was a bit more wide open than Remake. And now Revelation is mostly choose your own adventure.

I do hope SE considers real FF sequels again. It's been a treat.

It doesn't matter if the timer is actually restrictive or not. I don't know if it's a diagnosable condition or what but if there is a timer, it makes it difficult for me to enjoy. Even super lenient timers that I couldn't fathom ever actually hitting like the 300 seconds you have in SMB3 levels bother me. It's just something deep in my wiring.
