Immigration is the only reason this is happening - people see this huge, massive influx of people into their neighborhoods over the past 15 or so years competing over the same resources as them, opening small businesses, operating in blocs and on ethnic interest and its rubbing them the wrong way.

Voters are distrustful of the Left because they see the social programs primarily benefitting the immigrants. They see systems and safety nets crumbling, wait times getting longer at hospitals, rents getting higher, a rapidly changing sense of morals and ethics as more foreigners move in etc. and they vote in any party that promise to kick people out because that's where fixing the country starts in their view.

This is happening in all rich European countries to some extent btw.

We have a study that sees a direct correlation between a rise in far right voting and a rise in immigration

We use regional data spanning over 4500 electoral outcomes at NUTS3 level between 2000 and 2017 to assess the impact of immigration on Western European Far-Right voting. To deal with potential reverse causation, we use immigration in neighboring countries as an instrument for domestic immigration. The estimated effects of immigration are positive, significant and larger compared to those obtained by simple OLS and fixed effects regressions. Depending on the measure of immigration used, we find that a 1% increase in immigration stocks leads to a between 1.78% and 2.97% in Far-Right voting. Similar results are obtained using electoral outcomes and immigration shares at the NUTS2 level, where the effect of immigration is estimated between 3% and 5.32%. Our results are consistent with possible negative feedback from the Far-Right to immigration. Our estimated effects explain a large part of the observed rise in Far-Right in Western European countries that experienced high levels of immigration during the span of our sample.

Sure Nintendo has "good" artists but they used to have "great" artists. What we're seeing here is good art direction, same with Star Fox, Metroid Prime 4 and a bunch of other projects lately. It looks great yet safe and doesn't break any new ground. Metroid Prime no longer has someone like Andrew "Android" Jones for the concept art but simply some guy that did HALO.

The great artists are no doubt on the heavy hitters like the next Zelda. 
With that said, Nintendo used to hire artists from animation, other studios or other fields to fill the gaps. 

Nintendo did lose some veteran staff including artists as of late like Takaya Imamura but also some people to Chinese and other Japanese game studios.

Some examples of this. The idea is that the deku tree is cursed by Ganons magic but Link is aided by the magic of the sages, thus a floating magical platform makes more sense than a tree trunk that breaks.

In fact it doesn't look as if the Deku tree is dying like in the original game. 

Hyrule field is designed in a way that the castle doesn't come into view right as you enter Hyrule field. You first have to walk up the hill to see the town.
Same with other areas your view is obstructed so you can't see Kakariko Village and the windmills. 

Kokiri village ends with a bridge over a foggy chasm. One of those "stay away" signals to outside visitors. Now it's just a normal corridor leading out of the forest.
