I know it's a western developed game. I was commenting on the mascot design which I find off putting with the visible teeth. It made me consider the difference between western mascot cute character and Japanese mascot cute characters. I think I prefer the approach to Japanese mascot cute characters.

I just assumed you had the basic intelligence to parse that message without me providing the full context what I was talking about.

Yes I know they draw mascot characters with teeth you muppet. I'm just saying this particular model with the always visible teeth clashes with the design, it makes them seem uncanny and I don't think Japanese artists would make this choice when designing a character. Not that Japanese artists don't fucking draw teeth!

After deep reflection, I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone I replied to in defensive anger this weekend.

No one knows how to pour gasoline on a fire quite like me, and that is my fatal flaw. I'm working on it, but I should know better than to engage with the mob, and I'm sorry to those whose feelings I bruised in response to my own bruised ego.

My father reminded me that I'm not owed a thing — in life or in this business — not even a response. Even if I think my work has earned it. To expect otherwise was my first mistake. That's pure entitlement on my part, and I will try to let the work speak for itself in the future.

But I am sorry to those I hurt or disappointed, and I hope those with pitchforks will limit the collateral damage this situation has caused, having spiraled well beyond my control. No one is responsible for this situation but me, and I'm the only one who should be forced to 'pay' for it.

I have amassed a large following here, for better or worse, and I don't take it for granted. I do believe that many of you are here for 'The Show,' so to speak, but The Show went off-script last week, and I will do better to use this platform more responsibly, having learned a valuable lesson — I believe the kids call it 'Fuck Around and Find Out.'

In this case, I wrote something outrageous for the sake of being outrageous, and I found out that it provoked outrage, understandably so.

I deserved your outrage this time (most of it, anyway), and I hope to earn your forgiveness — and earn back your respect — in due course.

All I can ask is that you give me that chance, if you decide to stick around. If not, I totally get it.

Either way, I'm still going to report the news, and I'm still going to be Me while doing it. I just need to dial 'Me' way down and trust that people are tuning in for The Work, not The Show.

I always thought I needed The Show to stand out because this is entertainment news, meant for entertainment purposes. And The Show did help me make a name for myself... but now, given my platform, I recognize there's a line I need to respect, and I crossed it, letting many of you down.

Having a rough week, or being a hypercompetitive person, doesn't excuse that, so I can only say that I will do my best to keep that line in mind going forward and try to respect not just my audience more, but myself more as well.

The work continues, both personally and professionally, as the two go hand in hand...

Trans sports participation is pretty consistently, by far, the worst-polling trans rights issue.

Indeed, it was arguably the thin edge of the wedge that the anti-trans movement used to turn the momentum on this subject around. Which on one level is kind of bizarre given that school sports really isn't that big a deal, in the the grand scheme of things, but it's obvious that this is an area that most people simply aren't sold on.

It's the position people who are (sometimes but not always willfully) ignorant on the subject feel is 'common sense'.
