Every time this happens, every single time, we express our disappointment, and the response from ostensible allies is not sympathy, or empathy, but hostility. "Okay, but you're still voting for him, right?" "You understand that the other guy would be much worse, right?" "You need to stop criticizing him, you're gonna make people not vote for him!"

And if there's any pushback, this cajoling quickly devolves into "Purity tests are why we lose elections", "Your freakiness in proximity to our nice normal candidates is what cost us in 2024", "Enjoy the camps".

Every time. Every time, knowing that when someone who should be on our side betrays us, that's only the start of the fun. That we'll now have to endure being talked down to by people who claim to be our friends, who insist that of course we matter, we just matter less then every other group, unless of course we even think about badmouthing their guy, in which case we don't matter at all.

I of all people understand that anxiety is hard to deal with. That it can give you downright selfish impulses. Our guy is so close, so close to winning. If he wins everything will be better. Just stop complaining, stop trying to make things worse, shut up, shut up and vote for him like you're supposed to.

I get it. I know where it comes from. But please try to understand how this feels for us. How whenever something like this happens, we know we're in for another news cycle of being pre-emptively blamed for any future failures, of being lectured to as if we don't understand how elections work, of watching our allies debate just how much dignity is too much dignity.

The things we're asking for aren't new or weird or untested. This isn't Obama being a wimp over marriage equality in 2008. These are rights we already had that were taken away. This is like if marriage equality had been the law of the land for decades, until Republicans outlawed it in 2006, and then Obama agreed with them.

Unless you're trans, you truly have no idea what this shit is like. Nobody is on our side, they're just angry at us for different reasons. It's so fucking exhausting. And after a while, the guys that see us as delusional weirdos who are a weakness to be exploited and the guys that see us as delusional weirdos who are a weakness to be mitigated start to look like the same guys. No deep insights from me on this, I know she was never handled perfectly but I have a lot of love for Bayonetta as a character. Miserable to see her and Jeanne mixed in with this garbo, it cheapens their original designs immensely.

I turned 30 this year and I'm in a really bad place mentally. It's compounded over the past 2 years or so.

- My ADHD is ruining my life. I can't get motivated to do anything, I constantly feel behind, I can't get invested or focus on anything. I have tried medication but I can't tolerate stimulants, and the non-stimulants I've tried have done nothing. I've talked to my psych about it and they've basically said there is no solution. The options for psychiatrists who are not religious are slim in my area because I live in the south US. I just want someone who understands what I've been through. Most of them seem like they don't even care.

- I am constantly worried about losing my job to AI, and the overall impact of AI on the world. My job is constantly shoving AI down our throats. It's turned into a competition of sorts. They keep saying we've got to use it and implement it in our jobs without any sort of roadmap or guidance. On top of this, I'm so burnt out of my job, I feel like I want to make a move. But I am too scared to apply anywhere else because I don't feel like I have the skills in necessary fields to actually grow my career. But I'm too scared and ADHD makes learning something new seem like an insurmountable task. I always feel behind no matter what. And it's driving me crazy.

I do really badly when things feel like a competition. And when it comes to my career, it's always felt that way. I have anxiety spirals where I think I need to build or learn some brand new thing immediately or I'm going to become irrelevant. But like I said, my ADHD makes the actual practice of this almost impossible.

The only thing that made me motivated and follow through was taking stimulants, but it made my anxiety so bad I was in a constant panic state and kept having intense nocturnal panic attacks that gave me insomnia.

- I increasingly feel like I can't relate to most people and I am inherently weird or awkward. Most of my "friends" don't feel like true friends, and I feel like I have no personality. I'm so worried that the few friends I have genuinely don't like spending time with me.

- I am so depressed because of everything I listed above. I've tried therapy, I've tried medication, I exercise regularly, eat healthy. But nothing has ever seemed to make things better.

I don't know if it's the state of world making things feel worse either, but everything just feels so hopeless right now. Between AI, climate change, fascism, capitalism. I just want people to wake up and see that we're all being fucked. But I know nothing will ever happen, because the billionaires will never allow change unless it comes from them.


/rant over. I just needed to get this out somewhere. Not sure how many other people my age feel the same way as I do, but life just feels so hard right now.

This thread is about mental health issues so be ware.







The issue that caused this is my verbal altercation with my neighbour due to them not caring how noisy they are at night. I was very respectful and calm throughout the argument, but they continued to shout and be disrespectful. They live above us in our flat block and there have been many nights that we woke up because of their carelessness. They usually awake till 2 in the morning.







I fear that this altercation would affect my family and I don't know how to deal with it mentally. I have depression and although I have a functioning depression, this incident has really been triggering. I'm still shaking after 24 hours.







Usually, in cases like this when I am very depressed I can read, watch a movie or listen to music to ground myself but now nothing works. And I can't reach my psychologist due to them taking a few days of hol
