Oof, a gay or lesbian companion would "challenge" his worldview? Yikes. Not a good look.

Rules as written doesn't even allow for nat 1 or 20s in skill checks, only attack rolls and death saving rolls. For someone as autistic as Echoes I would have assumed they actually read the rules. It's more of a house rule, and a fine one at that in certain situations, but it does not always mean success.

Perhaps play video games because they’re fun and not an “investment”

Buying skins for games, Jesus weeps. At least PoE is free to play, and stash tabs are really the only thing you kinda need to spend money on. But also most stash tabs bought in PoE1 transfer to PoE2 so fair play to GGG.
Also I got a mageblood in a ritual on like day 8 of 0.5.5 so now I’m rich and my season has no struggle left

It really is a strange mentality because there's just no scenario where those 500 bucks on skins aren't wasted.

You know who else did great work for LGBTQ causes and women's causes? Debra Messing and Tara Strong, both of which are horrible Islamophobic monsters. Doing good things for one marginalized group does not excuse bigotry toward another.
It may be irrelevant to you but it isn't irrelevant to me. What is it they always say? "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"? You can't look at a human being, separate all the good they've done from all the bad they've done and then sweep away all the good as if none of it ever mattered. That's such a childish way of going through life that I can't even begin to understand why you'd think that's the right way to do it.
Obviously the optics of calling out someone when they're saying "Free Palestine" are horrible, but just because someone says "Free Palestine" it doesn't mean we forgive all the bad things they've done either. It's not a get-out-of-jail-free card.

No wonder they banned him, he brought up Macklemore dressing up as Jewish caricature
Of course his reply was met with "who cares it was a decade ago" which is just so funny on a forum that will happily remind you that Justin Trudeau did blackface once.

Also, there is no "switch up." A small number of angry people on Twitter, a Nazi website that most people abandoned except the most terminally online, is not a "switch up."
Says the one who paid for the blue check mark so he's supporting the Nazi site by giving money

I've only ever bought one cosmetic in any game ever and that was because Amazon was giving people a store-wide $5 credit if you bought anything through their now dead marketplace. It might not have actually been a cosmetic but like a time skip or weapon or something, I can't remember. It was 99 cents. I can't fathom spending tens of dollars let alone hundreds.
I barely even buy cosmetics with in-game currency you earn purely by play time. You'd have to pay me to get me to outfit my character with some of the things people pay to outfit theirs with in 2K.

I don't understand how it's an accessibility feature. Can someone that mentally impaired do any of the rest of the game?
You actually see this a lot in modern games, they know the players are stupid (and they're right) but they don't bother to comprehend how the players are stupid. So they just default to assuming the player is borderline subhuman in intelligence.
I was seeing Jeff Gerstmann playing Blast Corps and got the part when he needed to move a train to create a route for the nuclear truck. He failed in the first try, fair enough because he didn’t realize he could use the train. But there was a second obstacle when he needed to do the same but with a boat. For some reason he went the wrong way because a small 3D collision pushback and wasted his time searching the boat at the opposite side. He was going to blame the game until he realized how stupid it would sound.
I remember that I did the same mistake… when I was a kid.
I don’t think Jeff is dumb and probably is the age… but I also think modern gaming conventions have ruined a lot of critical and creative thinking. People that use “accessibility” to demand handholding are usually brain dead assholes that larp as disable people.

Don't tell Nida this, but usually we just let them hold a dead controller and gesticulate in whatever random direction while we have a uncommentated longplay going in the background.
He has an absolute blast "playing" all the biggest games like this, and that's what's most important.
