Congratulations to Ed Sheeran for finally finding his support act, I guess.

I'm a bit of a newcomer to both NL and Dan Gheesling (only been watching NL for a couple of years or so) and my first exposure to Dan wasn't streaming or even Big Brother, it was the US Traitors. I was told he was a good dude playing the role of this super Machiavellian genius, but I got pretty bad vibes from him even then. Came across like a hyper control freak and honestly a pretty shit player.

He didn't come across much better when he was doing collab Arc Raiders streams with NL, where he was essentially bullying other players for using that voice mask/changer thing in game. So yeah, bad vibes but now I'm convinced he's a pretty awful dude.

You quietly contact staff and have them get him to put his phone away or get escorted out of the theater - you don't blanket an entire row of people (many of whom were probably also annoyed by the cell phone) with pepper spray, especially since it sounds like it affected more rows through the smell of pepper spray. The only way I would accept that as a reaction is if there was someone waving a gun around or something. And even then that's probably the wrong move, too.

Hello I have come seeking the wisdom of those who post here.

I normally don't participate in these type of threads because I'm a straight male and I recognise that this is a space for women and fem people to discuss the topic of sexualisation in video games. Y'all don't need my dumb ass here posting but today I have found myself requiring your power, your techniques, the great knowledge y'all wield in the good fight.

So I've posted on this forum here about a belief I have. That the sexualisation of female characters that is rampant in Japanese media is hurting the broad appeal of Japanese media worldwide. A lot of women consume anime and in particularly there is a storied history in the United States of tween girls kickstarting the manga industry by buying shojo manga that was published at proper bookstores where the demographic was more likely to be.

But a lot of women watch shonen anime too, it's true, I'm sure you all know. A woman can enjoy watching a man punch another man really really hard too. But a lot of shonen shows are filled with fan service and women with sexualised designs. For years women and gay men have had to put up with this to even have a chance to engage with the media. But it's stupid they shouldn't have to do it!

My radical though is that manga or video games about spikey haired youths clashing swords don't need scantily clad girls on the side.

You see I was foolish, I thought ResetERA was actually cool. But as it turns out, only the cool people are in this thread. Because when I bring this up I get weirdos trying to shut me down by going "yeah but gacha games sell really well..."

It feels really annoying and dismissive. Obviously I know this type of content sells, that's not my argument. My argument is that I don't think this is what mainstream audiences are looking for. I know this because mainstream audiences have people who are not horny straight men in them only. We have examples of anime works like Pokemon that find great success and don't have this stuff in them. And I'm sure many people have personal experience where they've tried to sell anime on someone who is put off by the fan service and objectification. . But I guess because the only option for a AAA JRPG on your mobile phone are horny gacha games, none of this matters.

God knows how y'all stay sane if this is the BS you have to put up with day to day. How do you engage with people like this? is it even possible?
