Alright I beat it. Incredibly frustrating game.

Yeah I honestly would say that anyone who didn't do all four actually finished the game.

Playing through with at least three protagonists and doing a reasonable amount of side content puts you right around the 80-hour mark. Taking all four heroes into the finale pushes that closer to 100 hours. Those who want to thoroughly explore each Part 1 storyline, complete paralogue missions, and leave no stone unturned are looking at well over 150 hours before the credits roll

If you go to the Silent Hill sub-reddit you will find that this is how the average Silent Hill fan thinks.
Another reality you could say.

A big part of that has to do with the fact that one of the mods there who got promoted earlier this year is an extreme hater of anything beyond SH4. They've made it clear that they really hate SHf and frequently remove posts that praise it and then permabans and mutes anyone who speaks up or fights back. Before they got promoted to mod status, there were a lot of posts and people on the subreddit complimenting f. The mod also attempted to seize control of the Silent Hill f subreddit but got pushed out and was banned.

I can't say for certain because I don't browse that cesspool.... but...

If it's who I think it is, they got banned here pretty regularly for repeatedly derailing threads to melt down over the Silent Hill 2 remake. The ban became a permanent one when he snapped and started harassing the mods via the appeal system (I've seen the recipts for this because of my own run in with him). Naturally, he's never let his ban from here go. The behavior you describe fits his MO.

Just a deeply, deeply unwell person all around.
