As a Canadian, Detective is like the worst of all our reactionaries on our country. they act like children and lash out at the USA, when the real issues in their country stem from the major parties (and minor ones TBH, NDP really screwed the country and themselves holding up Trudeau). It's a lot easier to blame America then do hard reflection on why diversification and other trade avenues only now seem to be relevant to Canadians, instead of over the last 40 to 50 years.

More proactive governments over the last 50 years would have saved Canada from the worst of the problems it now faces.

TBH, it's been gross watching Canadians say foolish things like cutting off potash, and shows just how little most of the users here really understand geopolitics. We even had folks here suggesting to cut crude off to America, seemingly oblivious to the fact America is how energy reaches the east end of the country.

I've been saying it for a while, bring back Bay, legacy sequel with Shia, Megan, John Turturro etc coming back, that's how you get people's attention on this franchise again

Maybe bring back Hailey Steinfeld and use the Bumblebee designs to get some goodwill from that too but that's more wishful thinking

This is the perfect time to do a full reboot of the series and to make it a much more loyal adaptation in terms of both story and, most importantly, design. Bring the original designs to live action with lots of color.

Don't agree. Lots of people grew up with the original trilogy. For a whole generation it's their Transformers. If they're able to recapture that you have a hit.

They can't recapture Bayformers. It's garbage and people have rejected it in recent years. Even most people who grew up with those movies admit only the first one was passable.

Revenge of the Fallen is literally one of the worst blockbusters ever released in theaters.

But also, Revenge of the Fallen is a worse movie than X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Only one of them has racist robots.

 

X-Men Origins has nothing memorable. Terrible CGI and action scènes. Revenge of the Fallen at least has very solid action and an amazing Forrest fight. Peter Cullen also gives a solid performance

The action sucks too. Revenge is an ugly mess the entire time. Dark of the Moon at least makes the fights visible again and brings back something of an identity.

Revenge has absolutely nothing redeemable about it. Literally nothing.

You're looking at this in a very reductionist manner and with a very narrow scope. Microsoft's purchase of Activision puts them on about equal revenue footing with Sony in the gaming industry. An industry that is consolidating at a rapid rate but expanding at a faster rate than it ever has.

If you look at what anti-competitive and monopolistic practices entail, Microsoft is not engaging in any of them. Competition will continue to thrive because Microsoft 1) hasn't assumed a dominant position in the gaming industry and 2) isn't capable of preventing their competitors from competing against them.

Ok, I finally looked into this to see what the fuss is all about. I was expecting to see an actual parallel to the Petra Parker, character is transitioning type narrative, or hell, even a force fem variant. All I see is fucking Rule 63! Are we (as a community) getting bent out of shape over one of a nearly infinite Rule 63'd problematic characters/properties?

I am so disappointed in us. Had we just stuck to our guns and not engaged with this property, we would have been better off.
