Deicide just announced an Australian tour in early 2027 so I am doing a bit of a catchup on their back catalogue (I dipped on Deicide when Once Upon the Cross came out - it was shit compared to the S/T and Legion).

Once Upon the Cross. Still not great, but isn't as bad as I first found it. 2/5

Serpents of the Light. That guitar tone is terrible, but the riffs are great and I am really enjoying the hell out of this. 4/5

• Guitar tone grew on me and made more sense as it allowed the riffs to breathe.
  
• Benton went back to layering his vocals and it made the album better.
  

Insineratehymn. This is back to very average death metal. Uninspired and not enough groove. 2/5

• Kind of sounded like Deicide doing Morbid Angel in parts.
