Eta- ultimately, like what was said earlier but I'm too drunk to copypaste from a phone, but my friends who came out in the 90s and 00s have suffered and had way more risk then these Tumblr trans ever did. They were risking major alienation for a feeling, amd nowadays you have dudes asking to be addressed as Ms and it's a war crime if the recipient is confused.

The T in LGBT is testosterone and I don't forgive these fools for minimizing the suffering gay folks have had to deal with just to slide in and claim to be first in line in suffering now that the work has been done.

It's the difference in the reason for being transgender or choosing any identity. If it's true to who you are then you don't need others to accept it or affirm it for you. The modern online trans demands this from everyone because the actual goal of adopting the identity is to be affirmed and accepted in a very specific personal manner that absolves one from personal responsibility and nothing at all to do with actually being trans or not.

In the older instances of any LGBT person it wasn't just that they had to hide it to avoid oppression, it's that even in accepting places there was no reward for simply declaring it. Now the progressive stack demands it and it's treated as a "get out of jail free card" for being a yt cishet with ones own personal beliefs about what "man" or "woman" entails and that they want to reject. They generally have a strange conception of how all men or women are automatically treated and want that treatment by mere identification with the proper gender.

I really am begging modern trans people to convince me their underlying logic for transition isn't as that one writer put it ages ago about Peter Coffin: "Men are bad. I am not bad therefore I am not a man." (Just replace the gender for women.) And that the underlying logic of trans lesbians (trans men seem to be more evenly split between orientation) isn't thinking it's some kind of life hack around being a creepy dude. "Not all trans men trans women!"  I have my other issues with the movement and the dominant type within it*, but these are some of the more irritating ones I feel are deliberately ignored because they hit too close to home.

*along with the general concept but not enough to care if people weren't demanding others participate or else, I remain libertarian after all.

I'm a bit over whining over who the most prospective next candidate on deck is. Seems like a lot of people here & on the active left in general keep trying to talk themselves out of voting for whoever the nominee ends up being. It can be Newsome, Inslee, Harris, a bag of unsalted almonds, I don't really care. I don't need to fall in love with the candidate for me to vote for them. They can all be problematic milquetoast fucks, for all I care. The general platform & reducing exposure to potential harm is more important to me.

Besides, it's not like anyone else except for the expected subjects are willing to step up to the plate. That's kinda my biggest issue with my generation & younger voters in general. We do need younger, more technologically competent people in politics willing to step up to the plate, and yet there's not a lot of people doing that. As as result, the complaints about Biden's age comes off as petty baby shit to me.

I personally care if the candidate is bigoted or not, but that's just me.
