Looking at Sony's bloated budgets, the $600 million Cloud Imperium spent on Star Citizen and Squadron 42 so far seem quite reasonable, if not outright cheap. Also, it's a shame Sony grabbed Insomniac before Meta could. Both Sanzaru and Ready at Dawn had more creative freedom and made better stuff under Oculus Studios than under Sony - just compare The Order to Lone Echo, let alone Sly Cooper to Asgard's Wrath 2. And I quite liked Insomniac's Stormlands. Never played Edge of Nowhere, but I hear it was a pretty good early VR game.

the other day I was in a conversation about the difference between aspects we can change about ourselves and thus can be discriminated against (clothing, possessions), vs. immutable aspects of ourselves which cannot be discriminated against (race, sexual attraction), the idea being that it's a violation of your rights if you're discriminated against for something you cannot change

being as tactful as possible, I said that since I identify as a man, I am excluded from female-only spaces such as restrooms, and that I'm perfectly fine with this, and that some types of exclusions seem reasonable and might be there for their protection and mine

I was called massively transphobic for this, because "it sounds like right wing rhetoric"

I asked if they understood what I said...do you literally believe that people who IDENTIFY as men belong in those spaces?

and also had to explain that re: immutability, most trans people would say they can't change their gender either, they just change their body to match the gender they feel like they've always had, so yes it's an immutable aspect of themselves but also yes it's something we rightfully discriminate on for everyone's safety

the level of explanation and reiteration it takes to convince people that SOMETHING THEY THEMSELVES BELIEVE IN isn't evil or transphobic
