it's not that you're wrong, it's that the distinction is unnecessarily gatekeepy. bisexuality already encompasses attraction to all genders. trying to "correct" someone on that by offering the pan label instead does imply that the bi label is somehow exclusionary, when it's not.

As someone who is non-binary & pan, I’m not sure I really agree with this, so it’s difficult to see you stating it as if it’s accepted fact.

It isn’t transphobic or exclusionary to be attracted to binary genders, whether they be cis or trans. Having that certainty of gender identity is itself part of attraction for some, and not being open to someone who doesn’t identify solely with a gender you find attractive, is in no way, shape or form offensive.

Many Bi people I’ve met aren’t open to genderfluid/non binary identities because they don’t align with a gender coded in a way they do find attractive. I’m personally not fussed, but do tend to prefer masculine coded identities.

Sorry mostly going into very deep semantics and desires but Bi doesn’t necessarily mean the same as Pan, hence why there is -some- delineation.

I can't really speak on this point in regards to sexuality, but I think there has been a slight trend toward saying multilingual for people who speak 3 or more languages and mixed race/multiracial instead of biracial. So the answer is kind of?

bisexuality has always included gender non-conforming people, this is a fact. there have always existed shitty people who try to gatekeep identities and those people have always sucked, this is also a fact. I am suspicious of anyone who tires to retroactively redefine bisexuality to be an exclusionary label. it does more harm than good to play into that nonsense.
