Strange how they hate cops so much yet act like the most stereotypical power abusing cop in their own little enclaves. The second you point this out, they pull a move a cop would do asserting their hierarchical dominance via perma bans or other mod power abuse without a hint of irony or self-awareness.

I think the inherent problem is when they set up Era, none of them had a genuine clue as to how to moderate a forum in the truest sense of the word and their only case example was GAF whose moderation method was constant bans, esp post-gamergate for daring to say anything out of the orthodoxy of the moderator's beliefs. Couple that with some of the worst stunt casting of the most odious special interest posters at GAF and you have an absolute recipe for disaster of Jonestown proportions.

They're not moderating, they're tone policing on a grandiose scale. Essentially each playing Witchunter looking for reasons to hand out bans to the point of absolute absurdity and the detriment of reason. In fact they've banned more members than they have active members at this juncture. New member sign-ups are well unto 6 digit IDs. Banned members don't disappear from the database.

They started with 20 mods that all idolized and wanted to be the new bishoptl.  And even he wasn't as bad as the average era mod other than his meltdown after the 2016 election.

Yeah but not only did they go down the road of a 'these dials goto 11. gif' mentality, but they also never thought to question whether handing out bans for every offence was the best way to run a forum in the first place. If all anyone has ever known is the stick, that's generally how they will conduct themselves.  The GAF model of constant bans isn't the only way to run a forum.

They have banned absolutely loads of people from the gaming side including a lot of content creators simply for failing to ascribe to the fringe beliefs of their moderation teams particular mores.

GAF was weird as fuck anyway. At the absolute peak of the internet I was a 12 year old shit posting on CVG's forums and used to look on in horror at the racist , bigoted chaos and beta weebery going on on gamefaqs and heaven forbid 4chan. GAF and Resetera is just all those people I used to avoid like the plague while I was hanging out having the best forum fun of my young life, who suddenly found a conscience and became priests.

I got off scot free without being nonced too, mega bonus.

What really, REALLY fucks me off with Resetera is that they've basically nailed the 'good' gaming forum culture coffin shut. It was so fucking funny man. Amazing times were had across the oceans. Now we've got this shit. Everyone gathering round Generalissimo Nepenthe for a struggle session over who is having wrong thoughts about liking stuff Nepenthe doesn't.

The biggest advantage is the pedal assist. It allows you go to longer distances, for more fitness level types, than standard bikes.

Hilly terrain is another good use case. The pedal assist just destroys hills. That's great for those that don't have a high fitness level, if they are older, have medical conditions, etc.

Plus, they are super fun. I used one in Hawaii in Maui and basically saw most of West Maui in a day.

I"m in decent cycling shape, but I would've been a sweating and tired mess doing that on a conventional bike.

I still love cycling for exercise, but sometimes you just want to cruise.
