Modern therapy is odd. The old wisdom always used to be therapy as a challenging session for self improvement. It’s difficult to confront your weaknesses. Not something to look forward to. Yet whenever anybody talks about it these days, it’s paying a stranger to hear you vent for an hour. And occasionally during your rants they chime in with “your feelings are valid.”

You can see that sentiment clearly in the replies. It's all, "Keep looking until you find someone that you like" and "They just didn't suit you op. Keep looking for someone else."

It's like doctor shopping until you get the autism diagnosis you want or you find someone who will prescribe the opiates you need.

No, is actually recommendable to change doctors if you feel the last one doesn’t work or you are not actually improving. This is true also for physical health. 

Obviously, you are not shopping for doctors just cause you want a specific diagnostic or treatment, but to improve your mental and physical health.

I went to a normal state school and experienced people getting expelled for plagiarism for truly terrible grievances and yes not attributing sections properly is plagiarism. The only reason I went to the local college was to get my city & guild’s certificate to become an electrician. I wasn’t smart enough to make it into the white collar world so I had to learn a trade. One thing I do remember throughout all my school years is that copying was bad, and if you got caught it was automatic expulsion. When I did my exams it was drummed in to us that we had to use citations and highlight the sources we got our data from. That was just the div, no hoper, army fodder level. So what I’m wondering is how the fuck does someone who becomes a Harvard professor somehow miss the part that an academic failure like me got drummed into them.
