I like Pedro but I'm kind of good on seeing him in literally every single major franchise. He's kind of becoming the live-action Troy Baker in that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting at least 3 Pedro Pascal roles.

But I don't care about the Fantastic Four either way so this doesn't really make me any more or less likely to see the movie.

So despite not being a fan of the choice, but also not caring about the property at all, his opinion had to be noted on the record within 2 minutes of the thread being posted

Honestly, as someone who had a grandma suffer with dementia, from the start of her disease to the late stages, and helped take care of her the entire time, seeing the ableist, ageist language and derogatory language being paraded on this forum with no recourse does NOT fulfill me with much hope in this site's future, at best, and at worst it's triggering me to a very dark place.

Something I noticed when searching for that “Dr Doom must be romani” thing is a bunch of posts on fandomwire and reddit. The reddit posts cite the fandomwire posts. The fandomwire posts cite the reddit posts. A big game of telephone. They repeat the message as it gets distorted and reinforced. But no care or reflection of what they’re repeating.

Like, one I saw made the claim Dick Grayson is also romani and it must be represented. I’m wondering where that’s from. Again, results are from themarysue and nerdsofcolor (not a joke). Looking at older results, briefly in the 2000s a writer changed his dad making him a quarter romani for her comics. It was later changed back when the comics did a major reboot. So a character from 1940, across 80 years, was written as a quarter romani for a few years, and somehow that snowballed into hating an actor for having a lighter skin tone compared to the fan art on tumblr.
