The thing that hurts me, as an artist... is the sheer ignorance. Like the "cheshire cat" Pal who is like 90% different from Purzerker. The only thing that is identical is the face. Like literally, and everyone I've talked to just goes "So TPC is being infringed because sharp toothy smile and yellow eyes!?" which is the most reductive and simplistic argument and makes me question my own sanity.

It reminds me of some of the conversation about TotK and BotW... where I had people telling me how the graphics looked WAAAAAY different from each other when they look identical outside of some new effects (clouds) and added assets.

It feels like every single person I've talked to about this just immediately dismisses similarities as a coincidence no matter how easily you could trace over them and find the exact same design, lines, and art "direction"...

I literally hate using this phrase as a grown ass man... but it has made me lose a little faith in humanity. I feel like I've learned that a lot of people are art blind, and it makes me quite angry. It hurts to hear somebody tell me that two things just look similar when they look exactly the same... The complete apathy to this is disheartening.

And for the record the whole "defending a corporation" angle against anyone who stands against the plagiarism is also quite apathetic. People designed and made those Pokemon. Some of them having dreamed of getting to design a Pokemon since they were kids. Sure the corporation is the one who sells the product... but art is art, and a person made it. Plagiarizing art is always wrong and trying to obfuscate criticsm as being some kind of corporate bootlicking argument in this discussion is disingenuous and dismissive of the actual issue.

perrserker's design very intentionally has the top of the mouth flat, while the palworld guy has a smile that arcs upward

perrserker has tiny, barely visible teeth at the corners of its mouth implying it has more teeth, while the pal just has 7 teeth

perrserker's mouth is modeled while the other one is just a texture and therefore has darker lines

also the eyes are completely different

maybe you're the "art blind" one?

She still posts constantly in the original poliera discord, mostly Israel Hamas thread, which in general is more level headed than era but she's obsessed with constant social media posts. While I don't agree with her so much in that area, she's not the problem with the forum right now. I don't see her do ban baiting anymore.

The discourse there is much more open. Like most of the regular posters don't go into the Hamas thread and tell people to fuck off with bringing up genocide joe in the main thread. Eg, most reasonable people are active there. The 2nd poliera discord has a lot of more recently disillusioned posters.

Like 99% or political posters are there now, era is a husk.
