Which is a more sensible thought than the idea that this case can somehow lead to a better future when nothing they say about it is true. They want innocent people punished for things that didn't happen. These people are completely immoral.

My headmate Bridie (she's emotionally 6ish) reads books for about that age range because with our adult brain she can get through chapter books a bit too quickly, though she prefers magic stuff and girls historical fiction (stuff like American Girl). Stuff like Goosebumps could be good, and she just read a book called Willodeen which is a kind of environmentalist thing, though that's not really an adventure. The I Survived stuff could be good or maybe the My name is America books? She's also into a superhero series called Sky Dragon but that's by an AUssie writer so I dunno if you can get those in America. Maybe kid's mystery books like The Hardy Boys or the Famous Five could be places to look too? I know those are old but they still kind of hold up. You may also be able to find Doctor Who novels which are written at about that age range and are usually very fun. If you're in the UK the local library might have some to try him out with

For the record, that's not fascist ideology, it's conspiracy theorist reasoning. Most fascists, especially the Nazis (the Italians less so), were just conspiracy theorists. Also, if we're historically accurate, the Nazis were in fact correct about there being an international communist conspiracy orchestrated from the Soviet Union even if they were wrong about many of their conclusions from this fact, which is why the communists shut up about Germany when the Nazis and the Soviets carved up Eastern Europe together until they invaded the Soviet Union.

You wouldn't have wanted to be caught BOTH SIDESING the Western capitalists vs. Nazis conflict before Barbarossa if you were on the right side of history.

Also keep in mind that a "moderate" republican is no different from an "extremist" republican in policy matters. They just try to make their fascism sound more palatable.

I couldn't do it. I don't think a Republican could be moderate enough in this day and age for me to be comfortable voting for them. I just don't see much difference between what would be considered moderate today and the extremist wing of it.

I see the logic but it ultimately looks demobilizing. Unless this is a mass movement, the machine will always eat the man: you'll be now engaging in politics in their terms only, forfeiting what little agency you have to get the candidates you actually want to run in the race. Even in the odd chance you get a Less Evil Republican in office, it's still a Republican and the party machine will be strengthened further. And that, in turn, will make Less Evil Republican more evil, not the Republican Party in your area less so.

Then again…assuming you would be a registered Democrat if not a registered Republican, then that just means less organizational resources for what already sounds like a struggling local party.

Guy literally has a practical plan for local change and they just refuse because it would "feel" wrong.
