This is especially hypocritical given their stance on AI art and how it "borrows" from artists to generate its artwork.

RE5 is my earliest memory of being aware of the ResetEra types. I was working on a games magazine at the time and the review embargo for RE5 said we couldn’t mention a certain chapter in our review. This isn’t unusual; it’s usually because there’s a big surprise or plot twist there. When we got there it was the part when you’re in the tribal village, shooting spear-throwing natives in grass skirts. I remember laughing and saying the word ‘problematic’ was going to be getting a workout on GAF (as it was).

It's a great action game and that section in particular was actually sort of open zone designed like the boat sequence in Half Life 2.
Gameplay wise not much wrong with it, maybe a bit too many 'fight waves' and 'use gun turret' sequences that were popular then.

As for the Resident Evil part, I do think it would need some bigger changes to the plot than RE2 and RE4 so it ties in better to the new ending of RE4.

Also the 360/PS3-era must have been the golden age of no-bullshit third person action games.

Part of why Resident Evil 4 does so well is that there is no competition.

When you look at top 10 lists of Xbox action games now, they include stuff like the Definitive Edition of Maffia, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Max Payne 3 because there are so few this generation.

I don’t regularly listen to Joe Rogan. But of the two recent ones I did. One was Katt Williams, who last I checked isn’t white. The other was the Snyder one, where they talked at length about Ronnie Coleman’s beautiful body.
