You really liked Jim Sterling? Then yeah, he was always shitty and you saying you really liked him before now does tell me something about you. I'm not at all surprised about this from the other things you post. Nor am I surprised at the "HE WENT TOO FAR" being because he disagreed with you once about a video game.

There needs to be ambulance crews given specialist mental health training because calling cops never ends well in these situations. The cops are trained to treat everyone as a threat to their own safety and to shoot to kill. When you have that mindset it's very hard to de-escalate these situations.

I legitimately loathe that these kind of takes just fly by on era unchallenged

Particularly suspect since a cop got killed a few days earlier in a traffic stop with the 'its us vs them' rhetoric on high. Everything in the story feels like cops who refused to deescalate and were determined to shoot first, ask questions later with an indifference to the public. Just happy the brother and mother are alive.
