I liked the demo, highlights for me were the music on Eidos 7 and the boss fights. I definitely want to give the full game a go and experiment more with the equipment load-outs.

Speaking as a woman (because we are not a monolith like some are trying to imply) I don't mind "problematic" female protagonists in character action games like Nier Automata, Lollipop Chainsaw and Bayonetta, it barely even registers to me compared to the real-life misogyny I have experienced in my lifetime. You'll find that a lot of women either aren't bothered or even vibe with such designs and express that through cosplay and fan art. I don't understand why this game has to be some deep cultural battleground: we can examine and criticise media while still enjoying it.

Is it just me or is this forum even more hostile or worse apathetic to any criticism of sexism both of character design and the shit that men in companies get up this past few weeks (even more so than usual) outside this one sport here? It really does feel like the industry is sliding back over what progress (Even if it wasn't much compared to most indie games) has made just with how most gamers are acting over this shit. Combine with the threat of LGBTQ rights in most nations of being taken away (Or already are) all this shit is just making me even more mad.

There is no justification or subversion of the horny design of 2B whatsoever in the game either. As far as I'm concerned, its identical to SB's Eve. You could argue that 2B is better designed aesthetically and I think I'd agree with that but the intent and sleaziness is pretty much the same.

Like, I'm gonna be honest: I personally don't mind the sexy designs whatsoever, but some people feel like they're just trying to be protective of certain games because they like said games while simulteniously shitting on SB for valid reasons that would apply to their beloved game as well.

That has always been the issue on era IMO. Its not that people can't handle things they like being "criticized" its that said criticism is almost constantly accompanied with a diss to their very person even if not intended. You can get called a shill or fanboy for simply not caring if the FPS isn't stable around here. So yeah no shit some people get defensive at your "criticism". People don't like to be talked down to and belittled especially for liking a goddam videogame. I don't like most of Sony's first party games as of late...but I'm not going to act like I'm better than those who do and I make sure I put emphasis on that when I do (which isn't often because who wastes that much time constantly talking about shit they don't like but to each their own).

Eve is a horny ass design. Whatever reasons for it doesn't really matter. The creators simply think it looks good and its what they wanted to create. Just because she doesn't have J-cup boobs doesn't mean the entire presentation of her body isn't blatantly objectified. It's not just the proportions that are the problem, it's everything around her. It's this blatant "THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE SEXY FOR YOU, DON'T YOU THINK IT'S SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXY" coding, like the art director is sitting right behind you, breathing into your ear the entire time you play.
