This is why you need to ban the Kyuujis. I am dying of second hand embarassment from how hard Kyuuji wants to be an internet celebrity.
Kyuuji putting far more time into the demo than me is not the outcome I expected (but should have seen coming)  lol

I for one have been watching Eve hang from a ladder for at least 30 minutes and it’s been pretty traumatizing. I mean it is so problematic I’m gonna need another hour or so but I’ll report back. I just can’t believe how disgusting it is. See ya soon.

Crazy how this 2-month-old interview addressed Eve's initial characterization. Then we get surprised Pikachu reactions from people when they don't see her full character arc in this 30-minute prologue demo.

kyuuji wrote:No one is doing that but go off I guess. Being critical of them adhering to a worn trope that further plays into the issues around her over-sexualisation isn't the same as expecting to see her whole character arc in 30 minutes.

Quote:Minor non story spoilers for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth below.....

I am currently in chapter 12 (66 hours played) of Final Fantasy VII rebirth. While I haven't seen the full story yet I am pretty in confident in saying this will be a 9.5/10 for me. The reason it's not a 10/10 is while the world/story/characters/most quests are amazing the side quests starting in chapter 12 feel like they have 0 respect for the players time and are just there to pad the experience.

For instance you start the side quest where the merc is partying on the beach in Costa Del Sol and you have to collect materials from areas in the canyon and Gonzaga to craft the items you need to lure the beasts you need to kill. If you are going to make us craft items for this quest at least make it in the region you are in currently in instead of having to run around one of most annoying areas in Gonzaga. Or here's an idea when creating the quest make it so you likely already have the materials if you picked up everything you found up to that point and only make those who haven't have to go find this stuff!

As a gamer who is working 40 hours and spending what time he can with his wife and son i only have maybe 3 hours a day to play games. Its extremely frustrating seeing what appears to be filler like this in a game when my available time is so limited. FFVII remake had padding but nothing that bad. At this point I am taking a few days away from the game to just recharge and then finish it.

For the record I have nothing against long games or side quests. I loved the witcher 3 and CP 2077 and they had plenty of them. None of them felt like filler like this and felt like just part of the world/story.

I know some people will say just don't complete those quests. I want to experience any character/story content available. This isn't just a design issue with Rebirth. A lot of open world games needlessly pad their games. I don't understand the appeal of that design to anyone?

You seem to have plenty of time, bud. If your're spending 3hrs a day on games when you have a wife and a kid, it should be enough time to play padded out games.

I would say you should spend more time with your family but if they are fine with it......... maybe it's for the better.
The question you should be asking is "Am I a shit dad and husband for spending all my free time gaming?"
Tbf I am at that exact spot and the final stretch of busywork is proper plains warrior levels of sticking it out and battling on

That has always been the issue on era IMO. Its not that people can't handle things they like being "criticized" its that said criticism is almost constantly accompanied with a diss to their very person even if not intended. You can get called a shill or fanboy for simply not caring if the FPS isn't stable around here. So yeah no shit some people get defensive at your "criticism". People don't like to be talked down to and belittled especially for liking a goddam videogame. I don't like most of Sony's first party games as of late...but I'm not going to act like I'm better than those who do and I make sure I put emphasis on that when I do (which isn't often because who wastes that much time constantly talking about shit they don't like but to each their own).

I know it may not be intended or you feel like this is a time in which its actually okay to belittle them because of whatever but I am telling you thats why many come off as so defensive. I feel like we can do a better job of "critiquing" things without any character assumption of the other side IMO.

Eve is a horny ass design. Whatever reasons for it doesn't really matter. The creators simply think it looks good and its what they wanted to create. That can be criticized just like any other design. That is fine. Calling people incels; inferring that they actually hate women; saying that married ass men actually never met a women before and all that jazz does nothing to any discussion and honestly only gives people an out to start mud slinging back. There are nuanced conversations that can be had but they are almost always immediately ruined by 0 to 100 levels of aggression and cross topic slinging and brigading.

Stellar Blade demo is actually pretty good. If I can admit something… I laughed at how absurd the skin suit is. I’m sure it’s a GITS homage or something, along with the other chick looking out of Gantz. But eve’s breasts and butt are larger, unbounded, compared to the regular outfit. It’s a little over the top. Still smaller than the Tachy lady’s.
I don't get why they say it's a sexualized woman. I've looked her all over and I couldn't find the girldick.

The Matrix is first and foremost a creative statement and piece of self examination form the Wachowskis. It's not a playground for other creators. If it doesn't come from one of the sisters then it's not really the Matrix.

Also, and no offense to Drew Goddard who I'm sure is a fine person and director, but the Matrix is such a deeply queer work that you probably shouldn't be allowed to touch unless you're queer yourself.

It's a piece of transgender art. I really don't need to see a straight, cis guy's* interpretation of it.

*Assuming of course that Drew Goddard is straight and Cis, because I can't find that much info on his personal life other then that he's married with kids. If he's actually queer himself I do recant some of this.

Oh, so by your own logic, if you had gone to look into Larry and Andy Wachowski's sexual orientation at the release of the Matrix, you would have only found info on them being straight males. But NOW it's ok to make assumptions about where Drew Goddard's life plan might take HER down the line huh?
