I guess it depends on how they intend to deploy these men. If the idea is to shore up some calmer fronts along the northern border and Kyiv and have more hands for logistics than I'm not necessarily against it. However, usually they just send poorly trained men into the trenches to hold a village so they can 'spare' the more valuable professionally trained soldiers for attacks and mobile defense.

The nickname among the troops for the current Ukrainian general is "General 200", 200 being the code for a soldier being KIA.
It's pretty obvious why they replaced the general who failed with small tactical attacks and raids during the summer and didn't dare launch big assaults when Russia pulled back from Kharkiv or was caught off guard by the Wagner coup.

Currently there is just not a lot of manoeuvrability on the front anymore, it's an ugly war of attrition and both sides can see nearly every attack coming.
The goal of Russia is to encircle and destoy the Ukrainian army. They believe that if the Ukrainian army collapses or flees west the entire country is up for grabs in the chaos.
The Ukrainians are now planning an assault on Crimea, by taking out the bridge connecting it to Russia they intend to cut off the Russian airforce, army and navy HQs as well as deal a huge blow to Putins political standing in Russia.

What happens often at reddit is that the original mods of a sub are passionate about whatever the subject is and relatively neutral on anything else, then some definitely organic passerby innocently raise some social justice/LGBT issues in relation to the sub, and if the mods are insufficiently supportive, they are ejected and replaced by trans mods who moderate 500 other subs including r/coveredinfempiss and r/deliciousfartingfurryanuses

The ridiculous nerd fervor centered around Stellar Blade is really wearing me down. I've had an extremely rough month (work bullshit mostly), and watching people all around the internet, including games journalists who should know better, dance around and celebrate the success of that game is burning my candle down to the absolute bottom of the metaphor that I'm too tired to complete.

Just awful. I thought the industry was learning and growing, but apparently all you have to do is pretend a genre isn't being served (seriously, how many melee action games have come out in the past year? like at least a dozen, if not more) and stick a Sony logo on the box and people will line up to gleefully excuse anything, even lining up hand in hand with fucking GamerGate to do so.

I'm so fucking exhausted, folks.

What a damn drama queen. If one game is enough to completely reverse all social/political gains you feel your side gained over the years, then those supposed "gains" wasn't much to being with. the story is very long so I will sum up:


r/abortion is a subreddit for vulnerable women to seek advice about abortions, generally a valuable support group

most of the mods were some combination of women who had been pregnant, actual/former doctors, or otherwise knowledgeable about the subject, very active on the sub and provided sound advice

however, the three top mods were all inactive on the sub, and also known to not know anything

one of them, cedarwolf, is a trans furry who moderates 116 trans and furry subreddits and also apparently works as a security guard in a juvenile detention center

cedar is only top mod because they "saved the sub from trolls" by claiming the role over 8 years ago and squatting on the title ever since

another top mod, shill_of_halliburton, moderates 154 subreddits which are either liberal politics or dedicated to piss and scat fetish (yes really)

the other mods of r/abortion said uhh we're not comfortable with our top mods, the ones with all the power, not being active nor caring about the topic of abortion?

after all, out of cedarwolf's last 1000 posts, only 5 were made on r/abortion

in response, cedar said the other mods were transphobic and removed most of them, on a power trip to maintain an iron grip on the *checks notes* support group for vulnerable women they don't even post at

and after this, these poor mods stay active on the sub because offering advice and support is more important than mod politics

In the comics, he's seen as peak human, but if you put everything together, it's kinda nuts. Yes, I know it's still "comics".

But look at these feats:

Leg press 2500lbs for reps. World record is 3000 for one rep.
Benches 1000lbs for reps! I think the World Record is 1400 for one rep.
He barely sleeps, on purpose. And still is able to handle his superhero duties. Most people need 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Cognitive function is compromised if sleep deprived for a few days in most people.

Parkour expert, gymnast, ninja arts
Intellect wise, he's just shy of Lex Luthor, and a genius in various fields basically.

Not to mention all the wear and tear he's taken. Should be in a wheelchair. But nah.

So what makes him superhuman is really the mastery of all these. In reality most people cannot be so well rounded since many of these feats require years of specialization. But Batman clears these with ease.

I'm renting Stellar Blade via Gamefly, so I should have plenty to say sometime next week. I can't imagine anything in the game worse than what's already come out after the embargo, but I'm ready to be further disappointed in SIE.
