What message does it send to you?

No wonder police turn up absolutely strapped to these events. I certainly wouldn't be taking any chances with my own safety, not that of any people under me.

Sorry for a negative focused thread but I feel like I had to get this out there for some reason. And I get this won't make sense to a lot of people but I really don't understand why people like mods so much:

* They are often buggy
* You have to worry about mods breaking or even breaking the game when said game is officially updated
* They make the game feel stitched together and usually have inconsistent visuals
* They aren't what the developers intended
* They are the equivalent of fan fiction
* Caked up anime women in Fallout

Glad people enjoy them and obviously they don't affect my vanilla playthrough of a single player game, but damn, I just don't understand the appeal of them. Just give the game as the developer intended.

The CM of Arrowhead just said "i didnt sign for this" its pretty clear those "ongoing conversations" were a failure and sony will not backtrack, this is now a dev pissed and sony not backtracking, my opinion here, just from an outsider perspective, sony, find a new dev that can handle the IP, cut relationships with arrowhead and cut their funding, its VERY clear this devs arw going to start to have conflicts, they being this public isnt a good sign

PSN is not supported in your country? You can't buy the game. Problem solved. It's on Sony to support more countries. But no one can complain about the PSN integration anymore. You don't want to create a free PSN account? Don't buy the multiplayer game. You can't create a free PSN account? You can't buy the multiplayer game.

I this is totally an old school Japanese company move. But, while is funny to think this done just to spite people, I think is Sony finally realizing how bad they are managing their account system and panicking.

That's easy to say in a vacuum, but this was always bound to become a problem at some point, it was just a powder keg waiting to go off.

If Sony decided to expand into those new regions and therefore had to legally begin tracking taxation of sales from those regions, what do they do about all of the false accounts whom they have been doing business with whom probably haven't paid sales tax correctly that Sony is then liable for? Do they continue to ignore them or do they say "actually these accounts are in breach of our TOS and so in remediation are being terminated"?

That's just one example I can think of. Maybe it's fantasy or maybe it would be that important, but the fact is that this was always a problem, those accounts are in breach of ToS and Sony would have needed to address this at some stage

this is a problem because they've been half assing their online stuff for so long it's going to be difficult to fix up

Now it's just fucking stupid for everyone. Now there's actual victims who can't play the game anymore instead of just, some hypothetical scarecrow on the other side of the world who can't spend five minutes to make a PSN account in another region. This is firmly on Sony's hands and I fucking hate how it'll be weaponized for more Gamer Rage from people who remain unaffected by this aside from having to face the prospect of making a PSN account at no personal cost.

Yes, it's an infrastructure issue from publishers. But let's be real here. These are the same capital G Gamers who manipulated Steam's regional prices to get games for cheap and ended up causing prices to go way up because devs were losing money from people doing that, AGAIN screwing over people who actually are from those countries.

It is a corporation issue. But the loudest voices complaining about it aren't the ones being directly affected by this. And it ends up screwing over the people who would be, but have managed to get by just fine. Do you really think people from countries like mine are so helpless that we couldn't figure out how to make accounts based in other countries so we can access games? That's infantilizing and insulting as hell.

Yes, publishers/corporations need to fucking do better. But capital G Gamers, too. Stop using smaller, less fortunate developing countries as their fucking crutches and convenient excuses whenever something like this happen and they just want to stick it to the corpos.
