It was made at the end of the day yesterday, comes into force on 3rd June and lasts 3 months. Because it's an emergency order it hasn't gone through the required steps such as speak to relevant and affected groups and organisations.

We were so close to the end of parliament and they couldn't resist fucking us over one last time, the fact that they've done this and today is the final day of parliament makes me wonder if they are going to try and drop something else in too.

Hi all,

I'm in need of help on where to book a VRBO rental in Illinois for October. We have a family tradition where we go up north in October to see the fall leaves. Usually we stay in a cabin outside the town or close to a city. For example previously we've been to Asheville, NC and Ellijay, GA just to give you an idea. We'll be flying into Chicago airport.

1. Ideally we want a drive from the airport to the rental to be no more than 1.5 hours.

2. A rental/cabin close by to a town to do shopping, eat, and explore. We have two little kids so any fall festivals would be awesome.

3. Close by nature hikes and trails to see beautiful scenery of fall leaves.

4. From what we gather Naperville and Rockford seem good? Galena and Starved Rock are options but a 2.5 hour drive from the airport. Genova Lakes in WI is also an option.

Any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Can't people figure this shit out on their own? Is it not cool to google stuff anymore? Why ask randos where to go and what to do?

TikTok ban and tariffs is just a skill issue admission from the US. American social media companies are upset that they aren't the most popular, and that the young kids are being radicalized.

The protectionist attitude isn't going to help with the planetary problems we are facing, especially regarding climate change. We need global cooperation to reorganize the political economy to tackle big issues: emissions, renewable energy, agriculture, transportation, etc… America won't be able to ramp up manufacturing or production in time to meet what China is already doing in renewables and EVs, so going protectionist is just dooming the planet to the whims of capital.
