No one's shedding a tear for the "civilian" who kept Noa hostage, nor should they.

But most people are ordinary, regular people suffering under Hamas rule and Israeli occupation and, depending on the facts and circumstances, are victims of IDF-launched international humanitarian law violations. They are unambiguously victims. Tying them to Hamas in any way does them a disservice, both ethically and legally.
