You can safely ignore. It's an offshoot board from gaf and was named after it's owner to make fun of him. Even though they changed focus to Resetera of course, it's just a bunch of internet olds mocking whatever. And last time I checked, they still mocked themselves for it being such a popular thread.

It's annoying but ultimately "harmless" since they don't seem to engage in the harassment or "sleuthing" of other sites. It's just a circle jerk of "did you see this post on Resetera?!" and "lololol I know amirite"

I'd say terminally-online gamers have no impact....but that's not really true. The chuds very clearly do. They're the ones that can quickly foment outrage and thus headlines, they're the ones farming views on Youtube and TikTok, they're the ones able to make enough noise to permeate into the mainstream, they're the ones able to inspire unrelated actions outside of gaming itself. Us? We don't get to have shit, not when most gamers have no idea what's going on and don't want to know, and not when most gamers that do know just wanna play their fun escapist games in peace without anyone judging them for bad habits or guilty pleasures or whatever.

Until we see a serious attitude change around gaming consumption we're just not going to see any change to this. Gaming journalists try, Youtubers and other influencers try, even forums like this one try, but goddamn can it really feel like just screaming into the void.

This feels like it's going to be another Stellar Blade where the chuds rally behind it as some kind of saviour of gaming then no one talks about it again after 2 weeks

Pretty sure this game will be talked about for longer than 2 weeks.

To be fair though, Stellar Blade did get sent to horny nerd jail after a couple of weeks and never returned. It's one of those games where people will be surprised by a random game of the year nomination and everyone will be like, "Oh, that came out THIS year?"

This seemed like the only topic where I could appropriately discuss this, but I was browsing Google doing searches on my username as I tend to do occasionally because of harassment happening in the past on GameFAQs, and came across a place called TheBire?

Much to my surprise it's another forum that seems terminally online to shit talk what other users on ResetERA do, especially minorities and people who are opposing political alignments. And, apparently, I'm a popular subject of shit-talking on that platform.

Should I be worried? lol

Is it normal to have an entirely different forum and thread devoted to spying on Reset 24/7? It just seems like a really weird thing to do.

Which makes sense. If Resetera users want to complain about resetera, they probably do it on Discord instead of an old off shoot board from a prior forum.
