Eh, whether someone is media literate and whether the trailer did something for them are two completely separate things.

This trailer actually "did nothing" for me. I mean, I'm already buying. But the Announcement Trailer was better. This trailer (possibly opening intro) is just not that great. I understand exactly what is happening, but it's still pretty stale outside the visuals. It's one side I know nothing about attacking another side I know nothing about while a poor audio quality voice over speaks about our status. And then everyone dies and we are prepared to take their place.

Basically what you are saying is that unless the story and world are spoon-fed to you, you can't get anything out of it. You are either actively refusing to engage with the media, or just really have no feeling nor inclination for it at all.

I don’t think it’s really accurate to say that it’s just a film that QAnon just happened to co-opt. Put it this way, if QAnon never existed, would this movie have happened? Not another film made someday by different people about child sex trafficking, but this film, made now, by these people, and marketed to this audience? To me, that answer is pretty obviously no — this film is coming out at the time it is, and is marketed in the way it is, as a direct result of and response to QAnon getting traction the way it has.

I love how proud and forceful they always are in their ignorance, it's something more powerful than regular ol Dunning-Krueger. Often a sense that their willful parochial understanding of things is far more morally pure through some kind of clean hands justification.

Looks like slim pickings going forward, with projects like Dream Textures sitting at 7000 stars on Github. I've not used, let alone bought, a texture pack since that addon came out. It's amazing for lookdev as well.
