Tangential, but reminds me of some advice I read on twitter or somewhere else where if you're looking to get a gf or SO, is to go to these flyover gas stations and talk to the chicks there as they're probably sick of the same three or four dudes hitting on her that an outsider will have a better chance.

No, because that would be under the assumption that the site Moderators warn/ban consistently and with reflective ban periods, and not how it actually is, whereby Mods just ban on a whim based on if they don't like said poster, if said poster was reported by someone the Mod likes, if the poster pissed off the Mod over something else entirely but they didn't catch a ban for it, if they are trying to push one side of an argument, if the moon is in retrograde, or any other stupid fucking issue really.
