It's like, we're familiar with racism and bigotry being portrayed in media. Some people do it well, some people don't. We can talk about times it works and times it doesn't. A game doing this poorly really sucks.

There are too many games though and these Games as a service types are so hard to nail.

Even something as huge of a hit as Helldivers 2 has taken a bit of a step back as far as I can tell.

When we have Destiny 2 presumably not hitting all of the goals # wise, I can't imagine it's easy for a breakthrough.

I have my GaaS types (WoW and OW2 to a much lesser extent) and I really am not interested in adding to that list at this time. When you have Fortnite, League of Legends, Valorant, Minecraft, CoD, and countless other games that have player bases that aren't going anywhere at this point, it does seem to come to a point of critical mass like we see with the narrative pushed by Microsoft regarding their console sales.

Astrobot looks to be a generational type of game so Sony knew that killing Concord this week before those reviews come out would be a good way to make this story short lived. I hope we get a deep Jason Schreier piece out of this though.

They're getting refunds. The game was DoA. At least now they can try to revamp it as an F2P (my hope) and get some momentum. I feel like when a game fails to this degree, it typically results in layoffs these days. If any paths can be explored to salvage the game ans most importantly people's jobs, that needs to happen.

There is no salvaging this game. There never was after the Beta numbers. They knew it and released anyway.
So take the loss with dignity and let the servers run for the people who enjoy it. Instead, they now found a way to piss of even the few people who enjoyed this game.
