Quote:"We are not homogenous and that is something political leaders have not understood for too long," said Monica Ramirez, a Latino campaigner and activist.
"We as a community we have different interests, we have different histories, we have different immigration backgrounds, and political parties have treated us like we are the same," she said.
"Political leaders and parties need to take a better look at who Latinos are in this country and understand our differences to be able to engage all of us.
"We have such different lived experiences, different immigration contexts, different histories we bring from our home countries … some of us have been here in the US for much longer."
Adriana was raised in Arizona, which shares a border with Mexico. About a third of the population here identify as Latino or Hispanic.
"Our parents and grandparents came to this country with the dream of starting businesses, to better themselves, now we are the ones who live the American dream," she said.
Many within her community have family living in central and southern America, but there is still a desire for tough border restrictions, she said.
"People who have gained citizenship or a right to be in the country legally, they know the struggle they went through to get there, they feel kind of cheated by someone skipping all those steps."
Adriana supported Harris, even hosting the Democrat at her restaurant during a campaign stop in August.
"It was such an elated moment … I was so excited for a female president but I'm now accepting the new reality."
Exit polling from the presidential election revealed Trump gained ground among Black voters, particularly Black men.
Sewell said Democratic politicians have spent decades courting Black voters but have failed to deliver any meaningful change to the communities who elected them.
He believes it's led many Black voters to cast their ballot for a Republican candidate for the first time.
"They don't care about us. They don't know what it means to live on this side of Detroit. They have no idea what it means to live here," he said.
Rick Wilcoxon, another member of Sewell's church, argued Democrats had become out of touch with the Black community.
Still, he was the only member of his family to vote for Donald Trump.
"My ethnicity has been voting for Democrat for 40 years and every blue state you could imagine is crime-ridden, the poverty rate is high and heavy taxation and just pure chaos," he said.
"Yet they sell us on the fact that they are better for us than the Republicans. Black Lives don't matter to them, Black votes matter to them."

This isn't a contradiction if you think in communities or social groups smaller than national census categories. Obviously my family is going to do things the right way and follow the law and work hard (except my cousins from the uncle who reads Real Raw News), not like those drug lords coming here to be criminals and leech off welfare.
I'm flabbergasted that other people are flabbergasted by this "contradiction" just like with how Blacks didn't want to abolish police just because they also wanted police to stop illegally killing people.

Quote:But the ad, with its vivid tagline — “Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you” — broke through in Mr. Trump’s testing to an extent that stunned some of his aides.
So they poured still more money into the ads, running them during football games, which prompted Charlamagne Tha God, the host of the Breakfast Club, a popular show among Black listeners, to express exasperation — and his on-air complaints gave the Trump team fodder for yet another commercial. The Charlamagne ad ranked as one of the Trump team’s most effective 30-second spots, according to an analysis by Future Forward, Ms. Harris’s leading super PAC. It shifted the race 2.7 percentage points in Mr. Trump’s favor after viewers watched it.

Watching neo liberal spaces on Reddit and Twitter have their full mask off moment and talking about ways to deport relatives of Latinos who voted for Trump has been a riot. Totally not going to push the Latin American vote more right, not at all. Liberals are their worst enemies. Why'd I have to be a leftist.

To be fair, the media and elite have pushed the idea that illegal immigrants = Latinx for decades now. It's not much of a wonder that everyone believes this, even though Latinx's never supported illegal immigration only immigration reform because the immigration system is fucked and they have more experience with it. Most illegal immigrants are people who overstayed their visas, they aren't Mexican and didn't hop the Mexican border. All the media and elites have been confusing this forever and Trump drove his garbage truck right into that wedge back in 2015.

What I meant is the absolute heel turn that is happening. Where Latinos are being blamed and vocal terminally online idiots are actively talking about wanting to call ICE on the undocumented relatives of legal latino voters. All that talk of compassion for marginalized people thrown out the window. But I agree with your point that the media is to blame for the view of Latinos = Illegal Immigrants.
That was your mistake for not knowing that "marginalized people" doesn't include class traitors.

if you agree with 99% of what we believe but not the 1% you ARE THE ENEMY!

Did she quit her job at the Washington Post yet? Remember when she was telling all the LA Times employees to quit after they refused to endorse Harris.
Oh and it appears she has now limited to replies to those she deems worthy. How positively democratic of her.
Only us old farts will get how funny this is.

Look at this video RFK JR made. He’s correct! Food in America is poison.
Look at the video here:

Many American foods are so poisoned and laced with chemicals it’s illegal to have them in Europe. European food of the same type have completely different ingredients. Take for instance orange fanta. Google the difference between European Fanta and American. HFCS should be banned or extremely limited.
They are poisoning us for money and to keep us addicted. The fact gop is talking about that and liberals who tend to be more health conscious aren’t is damning.
It also shows liberals despite their ire at corporations suck corporate cock and want a status quo. You can say his take on vaccines and stuff is questionable but acting like he doesn’t raise any goods points is bizarre.
Watch the video then read this article.

Incredibly damning how the media does their agenda and attack a man making very cogent points.
If you took them at their word you’d think he was a quack. But watch the video and he raised very good points that we all as Americans should get behind. The mainstream media is not to be trusted and this radicalizes everyday folks.
It's pretty wild that in that short speech Biden made a better case for their side than Kamala and Obama ever did.
She never mentioned the 1 trillion invested in infrastructure.
Also the Red Mirage / Blue Shift turned out to be the exact opposite.
Once the Democrats noted the long lines at universities, they all figured it was a massive wave of support for Kamala but strangely enough Republicans started to post that even with long waiting times, everyone should STAY IN LINE. Although Trump said Republicans should stay in line and Democrats could go home if they wanted.
Turns out it was all young Trump voters and the Democrats didn't even realize what was happening.

Well, if he can get the red dye 40 out of the food that'd be good. But taking fluoride out of the water seems like a bad idea, does he really want to do that?

Weirdest part is that the chair of the DNC talks about Biden being pro-worker when Kamala was the candidate.
Scranton Joe who loves trains and corvettes certainly had a connection to workers.
Kamala Harris serving up word salads clearly didn't and neither did that absolute clown Tim Walz.
Does the chair think people considered Kamala to be black Joe Biden with tits?
Not to mention some of those policies were copied from Trump, no tax on tips, after literally expanding the IRS to go after tips.
The down payment for a house sounds good but not when you take into account that it will only increase prices for houses and not lower them.
And in the end of course she came out with a plan to hand out millions of interest free loans only for black people (they changed the messaging later but that was some insane pandering).

I know calling the vote into question was more a trump thing when he was losing but what I'm most surprised/relieved about this election was utterly zero mention or drama about ballots
