As a CPAP user who definitely needs it, my experience is you have to approach the doctor about getting a sleep study. They don’t suggest it unless you keep coming in talking about how bad your sleep is.

Yes, it’s diagnosed way more these days, but given weight complicates apnea… and how much more people are getting fat these days…

I have tinnitus in my left ear from noise damage.  I went to some audiologist once in the basement of a Macy's.  I had a pre-screening interview with him where I told him about my tinnitus, then he tested my hearing and FAKED the audiogram because he confused which ear is fucked (and the hearing loss notches on the frequency chart were wrong even if he got the ear right, anyway)  No, it wasn't a simple mistake, you go through the test twice - and he got the ear "wrong" twice with the wrong audiogram notches - that doesn't happen and has never happened to me in the dozen of audiologists i've been to.  Then he gives me a catalogue to buy hearing aids and points out the most expensive ones to buy.  The cadillac of hearing aids, if you will.   i'm not tryna hear that shit (no pun intended).  Who am i kidding, that was intended as fuck.  I find out months later that the place got shut down, not sure about the specifics.  To reiterate: this bitch ass was GONNA FIT ME WITH HEARING AIDS USING A FAKE AUDIOGRAM.  Don't listen to these trifling ass niggas, Uncle.  I know what you're talking about.  Medical opportunists exist.   Any rock hard cocks in the chat tonight?

Having worked in a health care regulator in the past, I can safely say that medical professionals are as trustworthy as any other business and you should approach them with the same scepticism you have for other professions.
