I just don't get it

Bernie was being attacked for not caring about Black people like Hillary because he framed his "socialism" pitch as good for everyone, not something that would specifically benefit Black people. He was pointing out without saying it that while Hillary was a Goldwater Girl and worked with segregationists in Arkansas, he was actually part of the Civil Rights Movement and supported Jesse Jackson's presidential campaigns. (Nobody remembers that second, better, part of the answer.) And this is what offends Nepenthe, that he would bother mentioning it to defend himself from the less pure candidate's attacks. Bernie shouldn't have had white fragility and just admitted that he was part of the problem.

Bernie was being attacked for being consistent by a candidate who had in 2008 run a campaign against Obama that would be called right-wing and white supremacist now.

Here's an example to show the illogic and just petty anger of the Nepenthe (and others) position regarding Bernie.

If you could hypothetically say that eliminating the welfare state would make every Black person a millionaire, Bernie would object to eliminating it. He thinks the welfare state is good, and would benefit more people to remain in place. (Ignore that he thinks more millionaires would be a bad thing, we could make them simply "upper middle class" except this means you're effectively a millionaire with the modern dollar.)

Now some people could criticize Bernie for this, but you know who can't? People who also support the welfare state remaining. They too would "sacrifice" Black people for the "greater good" for everyone.

Do I think Nepenthe would take this hypothetical offer? Absolutely. Would she ever admit it publicly on there? Not a chance.

The party fundamentally is not interested in helping our causes because A.) Black/African issues and the maintenance of capitalism are diametrically opposed to one other, so Democrats can't actually act upon meaningful policy meant to alleviate Black suffering because that would make the line go down, and the line must never go down, and B.) They understand that this unexamined cultural belief that we are beholden to them means that they don't actually have to do anything for us because the vote is guaranteed.

Nepenthe yesterday talking about a guy who's been an actual successful politician for decades and came surprisingly close to winning the Democratic nomination:
