Derbel McDillet Quote:Then we moved states and then my mom found a black church. Fucking four hours. Couldn't sleep in, had to get dressed and just sat there, singing, praising, sermon, singing, praising pretty much 50 percent of my Sundays each year through middle school and most of high schoolPressing F to doubt 4 hours. Forerunner: Quote:My favorite part was the grape juice and cracks for the blood and body of Christ lol Imagine saying that on Era about a tenant of Islam Pacifaxe: Quote:I would sleep all the time. What a colossal waste of time. All these people who shouldn't be singing screaming at the top of their lungs. All the bacteria and virus spreading. The bullshit peace be with you Hollywood Duo: Quote:Funny that 8 year old me waiting every second to get out of there apparently absorbed more than all hateful people calling themselves Christians that have been going for 50 years ThisIsMe: Quote:Hate it now as an adult for the brainwashing. I don't believe in suppressing viewpoints, but to evangelize and guilt kids who haven't yet developed critical thinking skills or possess a fully developed brain is more disgusting to me as I have gotten older.Trans kids know who they are, chud. Dice: Quote:Point is: I maintain that video games are probably my religion. A belief that games are art, a practice to enjoy new release days, in a hobby shared by many around the world, and have found many like-minded friends who also enjoy games. ♫

These are middle class folkx that have the ability and time to be brainwashed and be retards. And yet there's a possibility they'll turn it around. Quote:Princess Bubblegum Lore drop So you hate your dad, interesting. Quote:They kicked me out of the kids program cause I asked too many questions. Then when I was with the adults I just slept through the whole sermon. Suffice to say, I never believe that and have been a staunch atheist for a long time This is how the secret chuds of the forum operate too, buddy. Quote:Echoshifting Lore drop A pattern is emerging. Quote:Visawife lore I bet you fucking loved a bit of judgement and punishment you bastard Quote:But part of me cannot get over how they don't see how smothering that shit is growing up. To me it seemed like they cared about god first and foremost more than anything else and everything they do was always brought back to the "glory of god". Quote: I hated the kids at Sunday school, the only place I've been remotely bullied. If we went I would beg them to let me stay with them and not go with all the little shit head kids at Sunday school. I was a small kid going to inner city public schools but the snobby Sunday school kids were worse than anything I had to deal with at real school. Quote:I do have some respect for faith and how it can be a positive influence in people lives. But I'm not willing to let it be a foundation that could be damaged in mine anymore. It's not my identity: it doesn't need to be. Church thread is fascinating. America has been binging on christianity so bad that they're literally all psychically buggered by it and cannot escape the shadow of it but they are so damaged they fail to see how they're still inside of it. And they have the fucking cheek to lecture the rest of us about all sorts! Madness

It's disturbing for anyone outside of the US to see how the US is still a majority ultra religious country.

Yep church is more a community thing these days. We've spend a lot of effort to get rid of it but that hasn't made society better. In a lot of cases new 'religions' popped up, such as the Climate cult, Andrew Tate and Qanon which are worse than worshipping Jesus.

tbh I’ve seen that reasoning and I don’t know what the make of it. It’s true that people search for meaning and often religion can guide them. And the argument that lax religiosity led people to find meaning in other ways, I also feel like we haven’t had a Westboro or Branch Davidians type of situation for a while. Or maybe it’s that extremists of other religions are way worse and louder these days. Who can say. When was the last time we had to hear of a baker for Christ refusing to make a gay cake.

I like how most people in that thread are like “it’s probably a scam.” If some woman approaching you on the street asking for a couple bucks is a scam what do they call spamming social media, begging for money, from your parents house with a room full of expensive toys, streaming equipment and zero motivation to find a job? 15 users liked this post: Chudder Barbarity, HeavenIsAPlaceOnEarth, Gamegirl Nostalgia, books, Taco Bell Tower, Potato, Daffy Duck, Hap Shaughnessy, Alpacx, malfoyking, benji, killamajig, MJBarret, Boredfrom, DavidCroquet
