As a counterpoint anecdote that’s non-fictional, I have a colleague who’s been clinically obese since middle school. (Even anonymously, I only share all this because she talks about it all the time to everyone).

Tried all kinds of fad diets, lots of yo-yoing, but never really got below let’s say 275 lbs, and is generally been closer to 325 if I had to guess. As of today she’s telling everyone at the office that she’s lost 100 lbs on one of these drugs (I forget which, only that it’s one of the injections) over the past year or so, and it’s been a real breakthrough for her.

She looks much happier than that fictional character who lost weight taking speed, too!

We have been warning about this for a long time and folks just kept trying to police our language around “genocide” rather than look at what’s actually happening.

Definitely- the pearl clutching on the left was disappointing. It felt like people on this very site were saying "Well is it REALLY a genocide?", DeSantis and the Montana legislature were like "hold my beer" and a month later, LGBTQ+ orgs were issuing travel advisories.

You cannot, at any point, give the right the benefit of the doubt, because it only motivates them to immediately prove you wrong.

It's nice to see that they hear the feedback on the divisive reaction to the film.

I'll stand by it (and MoM) being good but flawed movies. I like the third act in L&T more than Ragnarok's. I think it's ridiculous to call either of them terrible. But they obviously missed the mark in a few places to have it be as divisive as it is.
