I thought of creating a Game Journalism thread when I joined. I used to spend time lurking QuarterToThree's game journalism thread and people here are cool and have interesting opinions.

But I just don't care about games media anymore. Read 0 websites, listen to 0 podcasts, watch zero streamers, watch 1 YouTuber. I used to read and listen to a lot but they chased me away and it's not like I was a Gamergate person.

Someone please tell Patrick that absolutely nothing of value was lost and if games "journalists" want someone to blame they should look in the mirror. 

Also Nintendo intentionally killed games journalism when they created Nintendo Direct. 

That was in response to the absolutely biased coverage they used to get in the "Nintendo is teh kiddeh!!11!!" era.

And then Nintendo proves that weren’t the journos but themselves for being incompetent in their messaging with the Switch 2.

Did you miss the WiiU or something? Nintendo have never been perfect with their communication (far from it). Doesn't change the fact you should thank them for killing games media though.

We won the war but the empire was lost. Still it was worth it, whenever their sites get shut down I smile.

Now they're increasing the price of an Xbox drowned in woke bullshit that already doesn't sell.   

I need to get back to playing the Indiana Jones game and Dragon Quest though. Might do that this weekend.
But from here on out I'm just going to be Switch 2 + Steam. The Xbox will be replaced with a 4K Blu Ray drive when it dies and it's already making those rattling "Kill me" noises. 

I'm also selling off a whole bunch of my old gaming stuff. Especially the stuff worth zilch, I'm also just giving things away to people. 
It's oddly liberating. I don't regret it one bit but I do feel it would've been healthier if I was 50% less into video games than I was in the hey day. 
Not feeling attached to every piece of packaging or swag like it was the most valuable thing in the world.

My old buds from the gaming websites want me to write again with the Switch 2 coming up. They need that Nintex take and this might be the subject.
I feel like the ending from Bladerunner. You had to be 'there'. I mean, they can buy whatever retro stuff they want, from Zelda 2005 hype to Gears of War and MGSV you won't feel what we felt if you weren't there at that particular time.

That last presentation was the reason why they decided to move to directs. They wanted to control the message because they “distrusted” traditional media outlets. The Switch 2 just proves that they are the ones deserving of the labels they try to avoid.

 And not, I’m not going to thank him given that, surprise surprise, they also helped in spreading the cancer that affected games journalism (you forget Nintendo Power?).

So apparently the kid stole something from her which still doesn't make it right at all because a good person would have realize the kid is only 5 year olds and to let the mother of the child know about the mistake her son did and to teach him better. Problem is it is clearly a lie, the 5 year old is autistic and what he 'stole' was a diaper bag which I guess is the hot new toy for 5 year olds? Where was he hiding it? The kid was playing with the bag and she freaked out because of the skin color hence calling him a slur. We had bring your child to work day last week and by her definition I had my phone, keyboard, id badge, stolen by random kids running up, playing with them, and putting them at the closest desk when they were done with it.

So, yesterday Eurogamer ran an article about the recent Xbox price hike. What caught my eye is that they explicitly sourced the piece of news from this post. I noticed sometimes in the past that they tend to parse Resetera to make articles, and I even suspected a few times they really did exactly that without properly crediting Era. I posted in the comments something pretty similar (if not word for word) to "if you read Resetera, you can stop reading Eurogamer, and you shouldn't miss much." I did this a somewhat snarky comment to raise awareness that I, as one of their readers, have become increasingly aware that they're not particularly eager to produce original pieces of news, rather than simply opting to write about what is posted in Era, among other sites. I guess this is common practice in videogame sites, but this is not the first time, nor the second, that I've noticed this behaviour, which I, at least, consider just poor journalism. Perhaps am I mistaken? Maybe the tone of the criticism was out of place? For sure it's not the first time I wrote in their comments to mention this very issue. I simply don't know.

So... today they've banned me from the comment section, apparently. What puzzles me is that, if you read the replies to my very comment, people are left and right attacking this forum, and those seem to be completely unscathed. That's a bit weird and it saddens me. I overall like Eurogamer, just not that they simply regurgitate forum posts to call them news articles, only to ban people calling them out for precisely that.

Am I in the wrong here?
