Is funny to me how ID got the wrong idea about how to deal with story and lore after Doom 2016.

I knew they will end fucking it up when they decided to double down in Doom Eternal… but I also hated the discourse about how “Doom 2016 story is perfect because you don’t need to pay attention to it.”

The question is more or less asking whether or not if you had the option, would you throw marginalized people under the bus for the good of mainstream society who can't get its shit together.

Posts telling gay people that it was still possible for us to find partners before the internet and social media are embarrassing. Yes, the 70s, 80s and 90s. Such good decades for queer people. So simple to find lifelong partners between the police raids on gay gatherings, the difficulty to warn each other of the severity of AIDS, the staggering amount of death that essentially erased a generation from our culture. We had it so good, right? Living under the heel of societies that ignored us at best, actively tried to wipe us out at worst. It was only after the internet, after the rise of social media that we were able to affect meaningful lasting positive changes in our culture. Social media made connection so less risky. Facebook allowed people to come out to distant friends and family, readjusting their perceptions of what gay people were.

But does that matter? Of course queer people should be able to survive without a major tool we use to organize, commune and rally around each other in a hostile world. Of course we should get rid of something queer people use as a tool and not just a time killing feed of slop that the rest of society uses it for because they live such blissfully unaffected lives. It's for the good of everyone else, what do our lives matter in the face of that?

This thread is a perfect example of what's wrong with Resetera and people like them.

The first page is filled with people not wanting to read the article and want other posters to summarize it for them and tell them what they should do. They're literally asking whether they should keep eating rice or is this something they should not worry about.

THE PREPERATION:

The Admins turned guild masters pay for your travel arrangements to take you to the new ERA HQ, a underground bunker, with 50 or so bunkbed bedrooms, bathrooms, a gym, games room, armoury, kitchen, dining room, medical room, strategy room, stress rooms, pantry, garage and meeting hall. Their is also a small friendly yet mischievous Hobgoblin that lives in the bunker with us that sometimes gives ERA users life advice. 

Meals will be provided for you but please mention any dietary requirements and allergies ahead of time. When out on the field, we'll be in converted road legal armoured buses, with a toilet and a mini kitchen.

1. FIRST QUESTION: What would you bring with you (remember you funds are... well whatever money you have), weapons, equipment, tools, entertainment, clothing etc?
   

THE RECKONING:

The missions (What would you do, what do you think happens and the outcomes?):

1. An investigation to the ruins of a Castle where their have been reports of tourists disappearing and sightings or a long fingered small creature.

   It is a Redcap, a Goblin fey that dyes their had in the blood of it's victims that lives in places where wicked deeds took place; with sharp teeth and talons. Good at hiding
2. An investigation to reports of suspicious drownings, with signs that they were dragged into the loch.

   It turns out to be a pack of Kelpie that moved in, Horse-like aquatic predators that can shapeshift into beautiful humans to lure us to the water to drown and eat us.
3. We're contacted by the local friendly lesbian Witch coven because their members have been getting attacked and bleeded by a lone rich prick Vampire that lives in a mansion in the middle of Nowhere.

   The Vampire has human guards and a giant mutant Cù-sìth (a giant green bloodhound the size of small cow and can hunt in silence)
4. Reports from local farmers that their animals, especially their sheep and goats have been stolen and some found dead with their blood drained.

   Turns out to be horned lizards that were turned Vampiric (Chupacabras) and mutated to giant sized creatures from drinking blood from an injured Vampire. they can flatten their body to hide, can dash with great speed and bury themselves.
5. Investigating reports of "Gargoyles" attacking people. Turns out it's a misunderstanding,

   their Grotesques as they don't spout water and they didn't attack but were trying to defend the humans from a Nuggle; a man sized quadrupedal flea/silverfish/Tick-like monster with sharp sucking teeth, spits and barfs boiling hot blood, reeks, covered in diseases and has been defiling the churches they guard with their reeking blooding large toxic shits.
6. Reports of an private housing estate said to be cursed as the sky around it "bleeds" colours, strange sounds and screams from inside, missing reports and people finding unexplained slime around the place.

   Turns out the estate is owned by a cult that has turned it into one big fort and church to summon an eldritch abomination into the world to purge the "impure"; birthing the "god"'s large Leucochloridium paradoxum-like children, infecting humans with them, tainting the local water supply and trying to break down reality on Earth.
7. An investigation into missing person reports in a company town for the Minos Corporation.

   The CEO is actually a Werebull and has been turning workers trying to unionize or speak out against the corporations corrupt and evil working conditions into werebovines (aka Minotaurs) and putting them into his large underground maze as punishment. We may find ourselves in there in we're not careful.
8. A Friendly benevolent Lesbian Vampire reports us about a gang of Vampires that are killing humans, being rowdy and making themselves be known, risking the lives of the many Vampires who don't harm humans and just want to be left alone. 
   
9. Reports of missing people and rumours of twisted corpses being found and covered up by the Police near the mansion of Scientist Shou Tucker.

   He's a twisted fucking former scientist who has been kidnapping people to make into chimeras. He has the cops paid off and has weaponized many of his suffering chimeras, from giant lion-human-gorillas, human-Komodo Dragons etc.
10. A forest filled with recent missing people reports, Neo-Nazi and Gamergate graffiti and reports of dead animals with their blood drained.

    It's a group of 30-100 Neo-Nazi Gamergate Vampires, including a "lord" (if this was V:TM, they'd be 12-15th generation, the Lord being the 9th) hiding out in an old abandoned Camping park in bloody wooden cabins, spreading hate through social media and planning to start an uprising.

Utopia is a myth, no civilization will be perfect similar to how there can no perfect work of fiction and some discord is a good thing, people having their own views, likes, loves, the right to be critical are all good things. To deny that is to strip humans of their agency, to force your wants over others which is dystopia.
What you describe isn't a utopia but another civilization based on exploitation, what you are are asking is would you be okay with exploitatiin and in this case and through our history, slavery for our own happiness.

It was announced yesterday that she was going to be doing Futa Fridays, focusing on futanari fetish games every week - this is the column I mentioned in my last post - but the announcement's been deleted and she's said that she's posting it elsewhere.

The standards probably aren't much better for this issue, where it doesn't question the narrative at all and just has it as a he-said-she-said thing rather than an attempt to silence reporting through a harassment campaign.
